Im gonna just go ahead and say this is nothing but a bunch of HOOEY:
WASHINGTON TIMES The IRS told Congress on Friday that it has lost some of former employee Lois G. Lerners emails, including some covering communications with Democrats in Congress and with other parts of the government, according to the Houses top tax-law writer.
Rep. Dave Camp, chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, said he was stunned that it took more than a year into the investigation for the IRS to inform Congress that it didnt have those emails.
The agency blamed a computer crash for the mishap.
The fact that I am just learning about this, over a year into the investigation, is completely unacceptable and now calls into question the credibility of the IRSs response to congressional inquiries, Mr. Camp said. There needs to be an immediate investigation and forensic audit by Department of Justice as well as the Inspector General.
The IRS is obviously steeped in corruption. If this isnt an argument to abolish the IRS, I dont know what is.
How likely was that? I predicted a long time ago they would lose those exact files to a computer glitch.
Are they admitting here that her communications were done on her personal computer? (which would also be illegal)
As a former datamanagement professional I agree 100% with your assessment ,, there are literally hundreds of backups that have the data on them ,, full dumps of mail servers on both the sending and receiving ends and countless incremental backups...
I’d say it’s time to send all of them to jail,, including the mouthpiece that had the temerity to issue this statement.
Must have taken a lot of hard PROFILING
and meticulous EFFORT to scrub the
drives and servers clean.
THAT is obstruction of justice.

Absolutely ... the GOP should issue a reward for information. This is not possible.
If you like your emails, you can keep your emails.
And if you don’t like your emails ... we will make them disappear.
I say hang one of them each day until they produce the emails.
ok ..never mind
Unless the hard disk is actually melted or very severely damaged (physically), data can be retrieved from it about 90% of the time.
America is run by three year olds.
The committee needs to start collecting names of all the IRS employees involved with this, so that when there is a Republican POTUS, and Republican appointed federal prosecutors, that there will be a strong effort to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law, even if retired.
Mark Levin gave some good advice about how to handle this tonight the first half hour of his radio show.
Even the iotas are missing... go figure.
Nixon was an amateur!
Carbonite?
This suggests that they do not have a modern email archival system that ‘petrifies’ records as they are processed. For the organizations involved I would find that unimaginable.
This administration is so full of BS and treating us the exact same way. They truly think we are a bunch of Maude Larabees.
Do a SWAT raid on the IRS and confiscate all data, at all levels.
These agencies send all data to central servers that are backup all over the place. There is no excuse. We need to lock down the server rooms.
Are you kidding?
Why? So that ths can disappear into that black hole of "I can't comment on an ongoing investigation ..."
Or maybe so that it can disappear for the next 3 yearws under a gag order an produce a book at the end that nobody will read because everyone has moved on to other scandals?
No. A Joint Select Committee just like Benghazi has that can be splashed across every camera in existence!
