It is time to abolish the US Federal Department of Socialist Indoctrination.

Get used to it Arne!! More states are going to pull out of this sham!

I tried to help my nephew with his math homework and it was indecipherable!

I solved the problems the old way, the way that worked. No drawings. No shadings. Just numbers.

“U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan struck back by vaguely suggesting that the federal government may now punish Oklahoma. Duncan asserted that ‘40 percent of high school graduates’ in Oklahoma ‘have to take remedial classes when they go to college’ and only 25 percent of Oklahoma’s eighth-graders in math are ‘proficient.’”

Arne, you Big Government dunce—you need to reenroll in the 6th grade. If the District of Corruption is so good at setting standards, then we should hold the achievement level of the students in D.C. out as the gold standard, right?

Kill Commie Core now!

I wonder how much money Oklahoma sends in to the DoEd and how much they get back.
I’ll bet they would be better off just keeping the money and telling Duncan to pound sand.

Arnie’s expertise comes from running the Chicago public schools (the ones none of his Hyde Park elitist pals use)

what is their math proficiency and graduation rate?

“We got a dropout problem we got to deal with,” Duncan said.

Sounding like a dropout oneself isn't exactly confidence-inspiring, Mr. Duncan.

““We got a dropout problem we got to deal with,” Duncan said.”

Apparently, good old Arne didn’t attend English class with Mrs. Thelma Hill or Mrs. Frances Walker.

I would just as soon that the dolts in DC not be able to have any influence on what my child is taught

" Duncan asserted that “40 percent of high school graduates” in Oklahoma “have to take remedial classes when they go to college” and only “25 percent of Oklahoma’s eighth-graders in math are proficient.” "

So what are the scores from CA, MA, and MI?

Arne Duncan - Obama appointed Duncan due to his alleged success as CEO of Chicago’s public schools. However, in 2007, only 10% of black 4th graders in Chicago reached the proficiency level in reading and for black 8th graders, only 9% reached reading proficiency. In math, only 8% of black students reached proficiency in 4th grade and just 6% reached proficiency in 8th grade. This was the disappointing outcome, despite spending $13-$14,000 per student and is among the highest of any major city.Even worse, a majority of Chicago public school students drop out or fail to graduate with their class. Needless to say, the Duncan era was a disaster. He did, however, pursue an aggressive agenda to promote the homosexual lifestyle in the schools. So Chicago kids can’t read or write, but they all know how to engage in homosexual sex.

North Carolina is about to get out of this atrocity as well. It can't be soon enough.

Why do we need a federal Department of Education that doesn't educate anybody but is the school bully instead?

The only reason “education is so dumb” is because the Federal government controls it, and parents give up their children at young ages which destroys individualism and real self-esteem. The government forces and controls the narrative (Worldview/Matrix) of your children so they shape the future “Worldview”. Reality becomes a warped reality made up of peers and strangers. (It warps perceptions and brainwashes the child. It actually removes “truth” from their understanding (Laws of Nature and nature’s God).

We need to be like the days of Franklin, who hardly EVER walked into an indoctrination factory to force group think. Never before the age of 8 years old. He could “think” because he wasn’t given a bunch of lies and garbage for 12 years which creates cognitive dissonance, when Truth invades. He was working by age 12. He was directed at Truth (Natural Laws) from the very first 7 years of his life, with the Natural family structure and knowledge of the Bible.

Note: no one can have the complete “Truth” except God, but everyone should be pointed toward the “Truth” from the moment of birth. There is never a direct line to Truth—debate and Knowledge and understanding History/Reality is essential. Public Schools now direct kids to Satan (Lies) to deform their Reality so much that they will believe “Snow is Black”. That is the purpose of schools since Bertrand Russell claimed it in 1950s.

Franklin filled his mind up with the Classical works which were read by everyone in his day. USA was the most literate country at its founding and the ‘genius’ in one room was staggering.

Why-—true FREEDOM in “education”-—no government run “schooling” like JS Mill stated would only create Slaves for the State. The Bible was in every home-—the most read book which gives true “Wisdom”......Why?—Because Wisdom as Cicero knew, is discerning Good and Evil and the Bible is very clear on what behaviors destroy people and relationships, or what morality makes them prosper.

Only Classical Education is true education; gives one the tools to find the Truth. Otherwise-—you are training kids to “think” like the 3rd World people who were easy to conquer and enslave because of ignorance. They could not think on a profound level....and understand deeper truths like design of governments—cause and effect (history)/Freedom/Justice/Free Markets/true meaning of Life. 3rd world people “feel”. That is all that determines laws now-—”feelings”. No Wisdom possible with these people.

The Age of Reason was caused by people who were truly educated (they all did not agree—on the contrary—”Debate” as Socrates noted is essential to finding truth) \with the Classical approach (designed by Jesuits and the Scholatics for schools); that understanding of the Socratic Method, Aristotelian Logic and Euclidean proofs and Greek and Latin are essential to the truly educated Man.

The concepts mastered by the Greeks, led to the brilliance of Rome, which led to the Enlightenment and Age of Reason, when combined with Christian Theology. Christianity, the most perfect Ethics system is being dumped (even though it is the Foudation of American “Justice” System. Christianity is the ONLY ethics system which created Individual Natural Rights from God.

It has to be erased for the “Collective” of slaves. Ethics which give dignity and worth to EVERY human being can never work in a Collective slave state. That is why Arne Duncan is outraged-—the brainwashed masses are essential to their utopia (of interchangeable drones—no unique human characteristics allowed, particularly that of “mother and “father” so that the Reality of all children will be totally warped so Truth escapes them forever. It will be as vague as it is for the harem boys of Afghanistan, when they become “mature” males, where base urges determine “Good and Evil”. Slaves/addicts of base urges is needed for complete slavery of the state and that is why Sex Education is the camel’s nose under the tent—put in the curricula with a vengeance in 1970.) Sexualization destroys Virtue in children and moral formation. It warps all understanding of self and others. it is why sexual abuse in childhood is so destructive to the lives of people. It creates emotional cripples and dysfunctional relationships....not Unity/Love which is needed in Free Republics (Public Virtue promotion at all times in Just Law).

With the exception of the federal entities indicated by the Constituton's Clauses 16 & 17 of Section 8 of Article I as examples, entities under the exclusive legislative control of Congress, the states have never delegated to the feds, via the Constitution, the specific power to dictate intrastate school policy.

In fact, visiononary Thomas Jefferson as president had clarified that the states would need to enumerate such powers in the Constitution in order to involve the federal government in intrastate schooling.

“The great mass of the articles on which impost is paid is foreign luxuries, purchased by those only who are rich enough to afford themselves the use of them. Their patriotism would certainly prefer its continuance and application to the great purposes of the public education, roads, rivers, canals, and such other objects of public improvement as it may be thought proper to add to the constitutional enumeration of federal powers [emphases added].” —Thomas Jefferson: 6th Annual Message, 1806.
So what U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan needs to do to keep her job is the following. Ms Duncan needs to inspire Congress to petition the states for an amendment to the Constitution which would grant Congress the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for public schooling purposes. And if the states choose to ratify Ms Duncan's amendment then Congress will have the power that it needs to make policy for public schools and Ms Duncan will be a hero.
