State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf downplayed the risk that the five Guantanamo Bay detainees exchanged for Sergeant Bergdahl might pose should they return to the battlefield.
“Let’s say the worst case scenario, these five guys do return, in no way would that substantially change the Taliban’s order of battle on the ground, that’s just not even logical.” Harf was explaining Secretary Kerry’s recent statement that concerns over the five detainees are “baloney.”
“Look,” she said at a briefing Monday, “is there a chance they will return to the battlefield? As Secretary Kerry said, of course. But we believe we substantially mitigated the risk enough.”

Kerry is such an expert on military matters, of course, because he served four months in Viet Nam before going home to his senator daddy.

Just stand up there, filling some kind of ‘optics’ template for believable spokesperson and spout sh!t about which they know nothing. No experience, no logic, and no scruples.
It’s not just about what those 5 will or will not do. It’s about the fact that we have made it clear that we will negotiate with terrorists, and cut 5 for 1 deals with them.
Both her parents are University Professors so that pretty much explains her complete lack of logic.
I feel so comforted now that we have that great Military Strategist Marie Harf reassuring us.
Kerry said the other day that IF these five try anything funny, they will probably be killed in their attempt.
She’s right, they wont have an impact on the “BATTLEFIELD”.
They are going to be targeting the American people with IED’s right here in the streets of America, not soldiers on a far off battlefield.
