Impeachment off, GOP fears it will rally Obama Democrats
Washington Examiner ^ | June 6, 2014 | Paul Bedard

Despite anger in many quarters of the nation over the president's prisoner swap, Republicans are backing off impeachment threats because they fear it would rally President Obama's Democratic base and kill the GOP's chances to win the Senate, according to congressional insiders and sources.

“150 days out from a general election is not a realistic time to begin such a solemn and Constitutionally important process,” said one advisor to House GOP leaders.

Republicans are backing off impeachment threats because they fear

Yes, indeed, it is "because they fear" - they are moral cowards who are coming right out and admitting that they are unworthy of their positions.

Nothing will come of this, ever. And the RINO’s shouldn’t worry, because the population already perceive them as being a bunch of weak suckups to the dems anyways. The dems are out for blood, and the RINO’s show restraint, and strongly worded, possibly scornful letters.

Fight fire with fire, forget impeachment, and push for criminal charges of treason and insurrection for obama and his minions.

Please point to one single thing I have said, which is incorrect.

Just one.

I much prefer being aligned with Andrew McCarthy (and Allen West) than with C. Edmund Wright.

they are fearful, and they might be doing this for the wrong reasons, but it is still the right decision.

but dude, you are NOT aligned with McCarthy. And I dont think West either.

MCCarthy specifically says impeachment is the WRONG thing to do. Has West said to do it?

This is the correct route. There is absolutely no chance of Obama being impeached and removed from office as things stand currently. If impeachment were attempted, it would backfire and give the Democrats solid majorities in both Houses in the upcoming elections.

I agree.

when you point to one thing you’ve said that is pertinent to this thead, I’ll be happy to pick your case apart. Again.

Want to know why the GOP does nothing?

They smell a conservative, somewhere,
they can attack instead.

The government can’t “bring back jobs”.

There’s no way they can do it.

They can offer deals to manufactures - like tax breaks.

But who in their right mind wants to bring their factory here and put up with labor unions and an aggressive government bureaucracy?

Even if Republicans install a business friendly panel of agencies, the next election is just 2 to 4 years away.

And if Obama taught us anything, it’s that the government is constantly changing its mind on everything.

Who wants to put up with that?

One of the reasons they’re in China is because that government is stable and (at least to businesses) keeps its word.

Before they can be “loyal opposition”, they have to oppose what’s going on....

This is the correct route. There is absolutely no chance of Obama being impeached and removed from office as things stand currently. If impeachment were attempted, it would backfire and give the Democrats solid majorities in both Houses in the upcoming elections. However, this realistic view will be ridiculed by the ignoramuses who will see the Republicans as caving.

We must not impeach Obama because it won't work and it will backfire.

We must agree to the Democrats budget because a 17% "shutdown" won't work and it will backfire.

We must agree to raising the debt ceiling because fighting it won't work and it will backfire.

Issue after issue we do nothing while the country is being destroyed.

How is that strategy working out for you smart guy?

Take back the Senate and then start impeaching those around him.

It MIGHT rally the Democrats.
That seems like a convenient excuse to maintain the status quo.
The moon might fall into us......doesn’t mean it will happen.
“All it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing.”

The one sure thing is if you do nothing, nothing will happen. Which is to say Obama will keep on doing something.

There are two possible avenues that are not impeachment. One is to sue everyone around Obama who is part of his unanimous decisions. (RICO) It might make the inner circle more cautious. Another is to give the Constitution and its amendments a real thorough reading and determine if Obama is mentally fit for office. If Biden's a fan of Machiavelli, it's a long shot with almost but not entirely impossible odds.

But impeachment? It would let the impotent or complicit (or both) 'pubs in the HOR off the hook looking like they're doing something while firing up the dem base at the same time.

I understand your line of thinking. I had asked some of my coworkers what they thought about the situation and they did not have a clue what had happened this past week with the Bergdahl fiasco. They could tell you what celebrities are filing for divorce and what rap star recently was arrested. If they impeach him it would cause civil unrest because most of the population in this country is too stupid to know why it was being done and what would happen to all the free s#$t? I never thought our country could ever get to this point in my 57 years of living on this planet.
