big diffence between this:
..... would support the exchange of five hard- Taliban leaders for the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl
and this:
“I would support ways of bringing him home,” he told CNN, “and if exchange was one of them I think that would be something I think we should seriously consider.”
“Republican operatives have arranged for soldiers in his unit to tell reporters that he was a deserter...”
It was the Army's responsibility to guard Bergdahl and that traitor him from deserting? Interesting perspective on the military from someone whose closest approach to a uniform was probably walking past his doorman without tipping.
Here we fo. The NYT doing its feminine tatle tale round of denunciations.
It is obvious Obama is peddling Narco Taleban Opium and then using that “manufactured want” against us to control people, but, hey, these troops made Bergdhal do it and they had a responsability to baby sit him.
Which is the very kind of little btch snitch behavior encouraging the like of Bergdhal or Alinsky wanted.
I freaking hate communists and their inherent vile and stupid mindset.
How about the outrageous claim of "honor and distinction" in the absence of actual facts...
... because we all know that Republican "operatives" have sooooo much power over psychopaths...
Yes it seems he seems to have just come and go when he wanted to...its called AWOL..thats not the action of an honorable soldier..
Plus when he went did he leave his gun and safety equipment behind or was that last time something else???..was he leaving for good ???...were the other times just practice runs ???
the army units lack of security and discipline
Strange they should point that out...it might well be that the lack of discipline that BOWeeWee had allowed him to go over to the enemy with ease...
He’s trying to close Gitmo..see my last post
The New York Times is America’s most heinous enemy. No matter what bad stuff happens to them, it will never be enough.
1. Bergdahl had walked away before:
a. Does not justify desertion.
b. Walked away this time and stayed away...clear desertion
c. Each of the previous times, he had also been wrong AND had threated the security of his fellow soldiers.
d. This time he sent all his possessions home prior to ‘walking away’.
2. Bergdahl attempted to escape:
a. Bergdahl was not taken prisoner. He SOUGHT the Taliban.
b. Prior to seeking the Taliban, Bergdahl prepared for desertion by sending his possessions home. That makes his desertion premeditated.
c. Bergdahl might have simply disliked the group that had him and wanted to be associated with a different jihadist group. He might not have been trying to get back to US forces.
d. Bergdahl eventually took up arms and was trusted with arms and considered himself a jihadist.
e. Bergdahl wrote of his disdain and detestation toward America and his fellow soldiers.
f. His fellow soldiers ALL say he willingly deserted.
"I would support ways of bringing him home," he told CNN, "and if exchange was one of them I think that would be something I think we should seriously consider."
The NYT Editorial board (anonymously spewed dogma) are entitled to their opinion, but they are not entitled to a perverted interpretation.
When I was in school, "support" was a very different thing from "seriously consider".
Honestly, it's like they're not even trying to make everything jibe anymore. Just wipe their behinds like a baboon, grab some feces and sling it somewhere to see if it sticks. They really are a pretentious and ill equipped group of ideologues.
Any order to commit a crime is unlawful.
Disobeying a lawful order can get you jailed or even executed.
Our military is finding itself in an ever more complicated quagmire.
Of course, McCain was going to close GITMO on Day 1 of his presidency and move the terrorists to Leavenworth — where liberal FED judges could eventually release them.
==
It does open up the question:
When the Afghan/Iraq Wars ended, what did the FED/politicians/military plan to do with those Islamists still being detained at GITMO and elsewhere?
It would seem that there would be only 3 options: execute, imprison for live, release.
The ARMY as Nanny?
Widdo Bowe wandered off...and the Nanny didnt give em a nice toy to keep em happy??
How can there be an America where PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY is viewed with such disdain??
Will military leaders take the WH meme without questionit was the military’s fault, he has a mental problem, etc?
PresBro has gone rogue and the military be damned, like he has done with Dims in Congress.
When will the left wake up to see they are in the same boat as the rest of us?
The comments at link are a perfect example of the delusion liberals live by. They are completely convinced that Bergdahl is an innocent victim, or hero, and that conservatives have jumped the shark to lambaste Dear Leader, on this *brilliant* trade. Sickening.
I wish the posts, here, could be posted at that site - for an injection of truth.
The NY Slimes would likely defend the Nazis, today, and somehow cover-up/overlook their numerous atrocities committed. Pathetic how far they’ve - ALL liberals - descended into anti-Americanism.
Here’s another gem:
“...it is the militarys duty to get them back if they are taken prisoner. Thats what the Obama administration did in this case...”
The Times, and the Salt Lake Tribune for printing this, are in full propaganda mode, of course.
The theme is presenting Obama as more honorable than the military and, in particular, the soldiers who have been near these events.
Every paragraph is as stunningly slanderous as the comments to the article.
“...it is the militarys duty to get them back if they are taken prisoner. Thats what the Obama administration did in this case.”
It’s as if the Times is under strict orders, and so enamored by the attention that they don’t see that they have sunk to the level of tabloid in their ridiculousness.
The theme might point out an attempt to portray BO as a great champion of not leaving anyone behind.
Did McCain expressly say he would do a five for one trade? That is not the same as saying he would consider a swap.
