The Left finally abandons one of its dumbest ideas.
Conservatives have long known that Obamacares employer mandate, if implemented, will create harmful distortions in the labor market and damage the economy. The mandate will force small employers to rebuff workers they would hire in its absence, and it will incentivize large employers to replace full-time employees with part-timers. When conservative policy experts and business groups first pointed this out, however, Obamacare supporters robotically recited the usual canards about close-fisted capitalists who value profit more than healthy employees. But a funny thing happened on the way to the midterms the President delayed implementation of the mandate until after the election.
Why, if it presents no potential harm to workers or the economy, would the President defer implementation of this particular provision of Obamacare? The answer, of course, is that the pain inflicted by the mandate on real people would inevitably hurt the Democrats next November. His congressional accomplices thus went to the White House and implored him to save their sorry political hides, whereupon he reluctantly and illegally delayed the mandates go-live date. This, however, put Obamacares pimps into something of a bind. Having assured the public that conservative warnings about the mandate amounted to little more than fear mongering, they were suddenly obliged execute a dizzying verbal pirouette.

The fines for not having insurance too....
wait a minute, so the law changes again... without Congress?
Law of the Whim....
Interesting if true.
[no employer mandate] == [no ObamaCare]
The article says Obama delayed the mandate, not killed it.
If they think delaying the mandate until after the midterms will save them then what does that say about the ‘16 presidential election when, by then they will have implemented it?
Then they will be out of the frying pan and into the fire. Every democrat who supported this crappy regime and their crappy, idiotic health takeover scheme should be ushered out of Washington.
Forgive my reification, but “the economy” HATES uncertainty.
As long as this law remains fluid and changing according to the political whims of those in power,
the economy will never recover.
Perhaps that’s by design of the PTB.
Wrongo!! I favor hanging myself, but a bullet to whatever passes for their brains would also be satisfactory :))

You are exactly correct. It would be better to go ahead and implement that prolonging this ongoing uncertainty.
No employer mandate = no obamacare = single payer
"ushered" ?
The hell you say.
I'm thinking "tarred and feathered" would be more appropriate.
I think the ad hoc way Obama has changed the ACA makes it an easy Constitutional challenge.
Best way to kill O Care: fully implement it, with not one exempt person or business.
The volume of screams from every quarter would wake up even Congress.

Um...damaging the economy is the main goal of passing Obamacare.
Do you really think we will have a presidential election in 2016, given that Obama and Bergdahl dedicated the WH to the World Caliphate just a few days ago?
The truth always wins eventually (no time limit declared;-))...and freedom (and the economy is based on free trade and free markets) will ultimately win because humans are willing to die for it.
The problem Obama has is that humans will always remember America. America is not just a future idea...it was a wonderful reality...a heritage.
This idea of America is here to stay!
God Bless!
