Baker Who Refused to Make Wedding Cake for Same-Sex Couple Willing to Go to Jail for His Beliefs

Masterpiece Cakeshop owner Jack Phillips created a national controversy after refusing to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple, saying it violates his religious beliefs.

After Colorado’s Civil Rights Commission upheld a judge’s ruling that he must serve gay couples, Phillips calmly told Glenn Beck on Thursday that he is willing to go to jail for his beliefs.

“If that’s what it took,” he said. “I’m not giving up my faith for anything. It’s too high a price to pay.”

He would have an instant respectful following in Texas.

Martin also confirmed that Phillips and his employees have been ordered to undergo sensitivity training, adding that if he declines to follow the order, “the state can go to a district court to have the order enforced.”

It is over. Freedom of thought; freedom of expression is dead.

It's time for that judge to get serious. Philips needs to march away at the point of a bayonet to a reeducation camp at least 126 miles from his home. And I do mean march.

That judge surely knows how to reeducate Philips, as I'm sure he studied in judge school how the North Vietnamese did it to, not the vanquished, but to those legions of citizens in South Vietnam who needed reeducation.

This is the United States, after all. We can't have people thinking on their own or in ways proscribed by that judge. We just don't learn such things in judge school.

“Gay marriage is still wrong, but I’ll shut up about it and just sell chicken”....(Forbes)

The man said ‘gay marriage is still wrong’........that sentence alone will get the PC Nazis breathing down your back!

His opinion is who he is........IF he had said he was rethinking his position on gay marriage, then I would agree with you.

But he didn’t

I’m missing something here. Did the homosexuals want a non-standard, tiered cake? What kind of cake did they order?

If the parents of the little boy named Adolph Hitler had said that they were homosexuals and so was the boy, you can take it to the bank that Walmart, would have suffered severe repercussions for refusing.

I have often thought that if I were in this position, I would bake the cake, but my contract for these events would include a hefty surcharge, 100% of which would be donated to the National Organization for Marriage. I have a feeling that might discourage this type of clientele.

I think the non-standard aspect of the cake is that they wanted some sort of celebratory recognition of 2 males (or females) decorated on the cake. Even in the simplest form, e.g. just writing their names together would be a celebration of perversity. THAT would dishonor God. Instead Christians are to bring Glory to God.

History is marked by believers strong enough to sacrifice their comforts, their freedom, and even their lives rather than succumb to evil. If the gaystapo isn’tcareful, this may be our first martyr in the Queer Wars.

We should all get behind the baker and support him. He has the courage to stand up and we too, should be shoulder to shoulder with him. Enough is enough of this politically correct crap.

The faggies might be hesitant to accept a wedding cake that was baked under government coercion, one would think.

All kinds of things can be done to food that is prepared out of sight. Just ask Jesse Jackson.

Just ask Jesse Jackson.

Always wondered why someone would push another to make them a plate of food, or a cake, when clearly the latter dislikes the former.

And you think they would actually EAT the cake.......
Their victory and point was to put this man through heck when he refused them.

This should be another place for the militia to show up, and prevent him from being detained.

I do not agree and will NOT eat there.
He could have just left it alone but chose not to.
He chose to make statements then backed down when $$ got in the way.
He lost me as a customer.
