Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said the U.S. did not negotiate with terrorists in the process of exchanging the transfer of five terrorism suspects for the release of the only American prisoner of war in Afghanistan.
We didnt negotiate with terrorists, Mr. Hagel said on NBCs Meet the Press. And I said and explained before, Sergeant Bergdahl is a prisoner of war. Thats a normal process in getting your prisoners back.
Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was handed over to U.S. special forces by the Taliban Saturday, with the government of Qatar serving as a go-between. Qatar is taking custody of five Afghan detainees from the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Mr. Hagel said the U.S. is dealing with terrorists and hostage taking all the time and that the release wouldnt encourage terrorists to take American soldiers prisoner or hostage.

Hagel/0bama is a liar. On the one hand he says they didn't negotiate but on the other he says they didn't notify Congress as required by law because of a timeline.

I am sick to death of these liars. They do whatever they want, flout the laws of this country, and are never held accountable.
To: jazusamo
No, they didn’t notify Congress because they were negotiating with terrorists.

No, they didn’t “negotiate” with terrorists; they just bowed down and acquiesced to their demands. Please sir, may I have another?

negotiating would imply some level of horse trading
we just got hosed
one low level enlisted guy with questionable background (enemy sympathizer / collaborator / AWOL) versus five(5) top level senior officers
how long do we have to listen to how 0traitor is really working to ‘help’ this country?

How do you release 5 terrorists at Gitmo and NOT negotiate with terrorists?
That plain don’t make any sense.
