The Sudanese woman sentenced to death earlier this month after refusing to renounce her Christian faith will reportedly be freed in the next few days.
A foreign ministry official told the BBC that Meriam Ibrahim, 27, is guaranteed religious freedom in the country, despite a judge's earlier ruling that she should be hanged for apostasy.
Ibrahim gave birth to a girl early Tuesday at a prison clinic in Omdurman, near Khartoum, one of her attorneys told FoxNews.com by phone.

It appears that she is being freed because of the UK Foreign Office applying pressure on Sudan. Despite having an American husband and two American children, it appears the US State Department and White House did NOTHING to try to secure her release.

When the US government threatens to cut off the cash, these third world dictators get the message.
To: Conservative Vet
Sudan only had 300 million reasons to let her go.

DAMMIT.
(Did I write that or just think it...)
Surely somebody wrote a memo to somebody who wrote an email to somebody else who called somebody. Nothing?

Well, I'm glad of that, but they really need to decide what the laws are in their country. Shouldn't be too hard.

Thanks be to God (and not to Allah) that this woman is
apparently being freed--- although I'll believe that when I see it.
And thanks be to God that Meriam Ibrahim has proven faithful to Jesus Christ Our Lord. A serious and stunning example to us all.

I have lived and worked in South America, North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. We always knew if things were a little bit dicey the American Embassy would get us out of Dodge City. We also knew if things had really turned to politically incorrect sh-t, go to the British Embassy. The Brits would do what was right instead of what was politically correct. That was in the 60s 70s and early 80s. I hope this still is correct for the Brits as I sure as hell know it is not correct for my American Embassy.

And thanks be to God that Meriam Ibrahim has proven faithful to Jesus Christ Our Lord. What a beautiful name for such a beautiful witness....Ibrahim, the father of the faithful; Miriam, the sister of Moses who sang of the Lord's triumph over Pharoah at the Red Sea.
