A 16-year-old Norview High School student, Vincent Tyrell Parker of Norfolk entered a guilty plea to charges of killing both his parents in a brutal assault he claims was fueled by his dad taking away his iPod.
Parker admitted to leaving school early, while his father was still at work. Vincent drove home to the 1000 block of Bland Avenue, where he lived with his parents. He went upstairs and pepper-sprayed his mother when she came out of the bathroom. He then stabbed her in the eye and beat her with a crowbar and a baseball bat.
Vincent claimed at the time that he hadn't argued with his mother before the attack. "I just remember getting mad. It's all from my dad. All this stuff like my dad talking away my iPod and stuff," he said.
When Vincent's father arrived home from work, the teen attacked him with a crowbar before stabbinbg him multiple times.
The crowbar, baseball bat and five bloody knives were recovered at the crime scene. Vincent initially fled the home, he later showed up at the police station still covered in blood. He told the officers that his father had attacked him but soon after came clean with the truth. Vincent said he just got mad and went off. The teen stated there had been no arguments with his mother; he was just angry with his father for taking things away from him such as his iPod.

“I dont know another Norfolk”

I do not either, but when they do not list a state, I think one is to assume that it is the most notable, as in Chicago, New York, or LA.
By the way, I did a quick search on “Norfolk”, expecting to see some small berg with the same name, but I see nothing but VA.
My husband used to urge me to say “No” more often to our children...just because. He felt they needed to get used to hearing it after all, life says no quite a bit, look at that Santa Barbara killer, couldn’t take no either. It is a modern phenomenon that parents are afraid of their children, even at three, maybe especially at three as three year olds can be horrid little bullies. We’ve been told for so long we have to “understand them” and “give them choices” (oh and they have to like all choices offered) and not spank them, etc. It’s no wonder we’re messed up.
Honor student, sounds like a good family.
Clearly the little bastard is a sociopath. Stabbed his mother in the eye. They better not ever let him out.
Grandpa says he forgives him because “who else will?”, indeed grandpa.
“Is he running around with the wrong crowd, dealing drugs and going out at all hours of the night?”

Hardly...He is too busy with his iPad, or the Dell laptop.
If he is not on the beach, or asleep, he is on a computer.
Vincent frequently hosted online chats and posted the transcripts on his Facebook page. In the more than 300 questions he answered from friends and strangers, he never expressed animosity to his parents. He told those chatting with him he enjoyed tennis and art, and he wanted to be a police officer.
But some of his chats oddly foreshadowed what happened in December. When someone asked him what crimes deserve the death penalty, he replied, Ummm, make your son do chores. And when faced with this question, Is it possible to justify a murder? Vincent replied simply, Yes.
Vincent also shared with his friends that he was gay, but as of late last summer, he had not told that to his parents. People who know him say he revealed that secret to his family near the start of the school year, and afterwards, seemed to grow more distant from his parents, especially his father. But Vincent posted nothing online that hinted anger, or violence.

I agree with your husband. Kids definitely need to hear the word no as often as possible. Yes should be uncommon enough that, when it is finally used, your kids’ faces should might up with joy.
This is in Norfolk, Virginia. . .
but there is also a Norfolk in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Nebraska, and New York.
Leaving out the state bugs me too. Breitbart does link to the story on a Norfolk, Virginia, TV station. But there are Norfolks in Massachusetts, New York and Nebraska where this might have happened.
What do you use for internet access? We use Globe Tattoo, bundled with a home phone, along with Globe cell phone service. It sure has been hot here lately. I am glad I live 3 blocks from the beach. Next week, some friends are coming down from the capitol city, and we are taking them to the Island Garden City of Samal.
That’s because the stories are lifted verbatim from local news sources. This one was from ABC, Norfolk, Va. You may need to follow some links.
From the article you linked:
Autopsy reports show on Dec. 19, Vincent armed himself with eight kitchen knives, an aluminum bat and a crowbar and went upstairs to find his mother. Vincent stabbed her repeatedly in the face and neck, and beat her in the head so severely the medical examiner identified 25 separate wounds. She died on the floor near her bed.
Twenty five wounds to his mother that he was supposedly "tight" with?
Sounds like a bunch of pent up rage. I'd bet he finally told his mother he was a homosexual. I doubt it was in a heartfelt, tender, Lifetime TV moment way either. She was probably horrified to learn her son was a homosexual and that's when he went off.
Even in a story about a gruesome murder the word gay has to pop up. I’m going to scour the Bible, I’m sure there’s some hidden nugget in there somewhere about the end times which includes rampant homosexuality, as well as all the rest because it’s just too prevalent these days.
“What? No EVIL GUN to blame?”
Hell, let’s blame guns, anyway...This senseless murder makes me mad as hell and someone needs to do something about these guns!

I have Globe DSL with telephone. I thought Tattoo was that little plugin dongle. My service is satisfactory, giving me about 2 meg speed.
Yes, it is hot, sticking on 95 about every day. We are only about 150 feet from the beach.
I just came in from having afternoon beer with my neighbors from PA and Cape Cod. We have a shaded beach garden that is about 10 feet above the beach line.
Keep in touch. Come to Cebu sometime. I am about 2 hours south of the city.
Or...I like this change up I used with my kids...definite maybe. :-)
>> He stood up straight and was polite as the judge questioned him.
Existence is intrinsically evil.
I need to go to Cebu, to go to the consulate. Am I correct in assuming it is in downtown Cebu City? I know they are not open everyday. I have to get a “mother may I” type of letter, to tie the knot for the last time. I will let you know.
OK..The Cebu consulate has a very limited schedule. You need to look it up. Let me know if I can help you...I have been through it all...Marriage, citizenship and US passport for my child..whatever. Send me private mails on FR.
Isn’t about time to take your 3yoa.s I pod away and get him under control.
