I wrote here and here about the Obama administrations proposed rule on affirmatively furthering fair housing (AFFH), an attempt to dictate how we shall live. In essence, President Obama seeks to use the power of the national government to create communities of a certain kind, each having what the federal government deems an appropriate mix of economic, racial, and ethnic diversity.
The proposed AFFH rule, issued last July, was expected to be finalized by the end of last year. But the year ended with no further action.
2014 was supposed to be the year Obamas year of action the phone, the pen, and all that. Yet, as Stanley Kurtz points out, Obama has been mum when it comes to AFFH.
The reason is obvious. Were not talking about raising the minimum wage here. Were talking about redistributing money from the suburbs (where all those swing voters reside) to the cities and inner-ring suburbs, and imposing racial and income balance in every neighborhood. In an election year, thats political poison.
Now, Kurtz reports, Team Obama has made its political calculation official. According to the Obama administrations just-released planned regulatory agenda, the finalized version of AFFH is now scheduled for December 2014, right after the midterms.
Kurtz proposes a way to break the administrations silence on the AFFH before than. Obama has nominated Julian Castro, widely touted as a possible 2016 Democratic vice-presidential candidate, to replace Shaun Donovan as Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Donovan helped formulate the administrations policies for how we should live, and HUD will administer the AFFH regulations once they go into effect.
Accordingly, Castro should be asked about this matter during his confirmation hearings. Kurtz suggests the following line of questions:
On AFFH, how far will Castro go to force densification? What penalties will he levy? What measuring sticks will he use? What steps will he take to pressure suburban municipalities to participate in regional governing bodies? How does he square AFFH with Americas long tradition of local governance?
On regionalism and densification more generally, does Castro see the recent planning efforts in San Francisco and Minneapoliswith crucial federal participation in both casesas models for the country? Does he agree with former Obama transportation secretary Ray LaHood that the administrations goal should be to coerce people out of their cars?
The Obama administration has been avoiding questions like this for six years, and Castro would surely try to duck them during confirmation hearings. Moreover, its far from clear that the Republican Senators who, if were lucky, will ask these questions have the wit to follow up in the face of the evasions with which Castro would likely respond.
Nonetheless, its time to start asking the questions in public. The left-liberal vision of how we should live is unlikely to be an issue in 2014. But its not too early to prepare the battlefield for 2016. Nor is it too early to start building the record on Julian Castro who, presumably, would like to be an active participant in the 2016 battle.
A few years ago I would have commented “Your Kidding right?” now it’s another “WTF!”.
Anecdotal evidence is that when you get too many section 8 residents in an area, that the neighborhood starts to go ghetto. Is that really a good thing?

Obama has long been associated with the Chicago “Regionalization” effort. Kurtz’s “Spreading the Wealth: How Obama is Robbing the Suburbs to Pay for the Cities” is essential reading.
CC
Libs intend to extract their pounds of flesh in revenge from those who fled their school busing and urban taxes.
It’s enough to make you want to move to some small town, far from the big city. It’s enough to want to make you move very far away from where they plant the section 8 residents.
FOAD, 0bama!
I remember reading about this a few years ago. I thought it had been put on the back burner, but I see the timing is political. I imagine that most people living in the suburbs don’t have a clue.
It’s the fair thing./sarc
why is it that moving section 8 people in causes neighborhoods to go ghetto? Why doesn’t the fact that they are now in nicer areas lift them up to the standards of their new community? Why instead do they bring the community down to their level instead????
They will when the Crips/Blood have a big party at their favorite park. Like what happened over the weekend in Bristol Rhode Island.
BEWARE THE CASTROS US Cong Julian Castro, San Antonio, his identical twin brother -- San Diego Mayor Julian Castro (making the rounds of presidential primary states)....and Mamsita Castro---Maria Rosie Castro--hardline La Raza activist.
Freshman Cong Joaquín Castro warned last year that if Speaker Boehner adhered to his promise to invoke the so-called Hastert rule, the House will not pass comprehensive immigration reform last year.
So I guess deferring amnesty will put the kibosh to the ambitious Castro family's separatist plans for America, thank God.
God only knows how much San Diego tax money and Congressional tax money----from her sons----is going into furthering mamasita's La Raza activities.
San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro---2012 Democrat convention keynoter---genially introduced the twins' mother, Maria Rosie Castro to the convention-goers. Mamasita Castro is a radical ethnocentric, anti-assimilationist....a key figure in the activities of the blood-thirsty, tax-funded La Raza."
====================================================
AMERICANS ARE ALREADY FUNDING MAMASITA'S HATE-FILLED ORGANIZATION BIGTIME: In 2005 alone, $7.9 million in taxpayer funding was given to La Raza charter schools in the form of US Dept of Education grants.
LA RAZA schools stress Latino culture, the Spanish language, the re-conquest of the American Southwest, the establishment of the mythical Atzlan on US soil, and even Aztec math.
In addition to using taxpayer funds to enforce the teaching of murder and violence in US public schools, the federally-funded La Raza organization operates 100 charter schools across America.
LA RAZA TEACHES HATE-AMERICA WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS La Raza Studies do not even try to sugar-coat its anti-America agenda and its bloodthirsty plans to kill off Americans: Raza Studies textbook Occupied America, by Rodolfo Acuña, includes a violent and blood-curdling speech given by university professor Jose Angel Gutierrez: We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is, if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him, (pg. 323). The following is taken directly from La Raza's Occupied America: .......execute all white males over age 16, (p 167--AKA the Plan of San Diego).
===============================================
La Raza also got Democrat Congressional earmarks and tax dollars for "mortgage counseling." The super-secret Congressional Hispanic Caucus calculatedly launched a housing initiative called "HOGAR"-- Spanish for home. Conspiracy and collusion were the watchwords....... race-based "La Raza" was given tax dollars and Congressionsl earmarks to finance its so-called mortgage activities. La Raza's "strategic partnerships with Wachovia and Bank of America forced the falsifications of mortgage-application and the dumbing down of mtge requirements and documentation standards.......which caused taxpayers to be socked w/ billions in bailouts as the US economy tanked.
La Raza aided and abetted risky federal and private-home loans to latinos over the last decade. thanks to the lending industrys version of dont ask, dont tell. In addition to millions of federal tax dollars, La Raza also collected a $1 million Democratic earmark that funded community-development projects. Analysts report that much of it went to "mortgage counseling."
A friend of mine bought a really nice house in a good neighborhood in CA and even paid double property tax in that city “to build new schools and roads”. Then the housing bust came. She lost over half the value of her house, but the worse thing was some of the houses in her neighborhood were rented out to section 8 because CA would pay the rent. Soon came the crime and trash. And the new schools and roads were never built.
They forced the banks to give loans to minorities and weren’t allowed to use credit histories because that would be racist. Then after the bust, the banks were forced to reduce the principle for the minorities because “the banks had given loans to people that didn’t understand what they were getting into”.
<><> how many govt checks is he, his brother and his mother cashing?
<><> how many ID's doe he and his family have?
<><> how many SS nos does the Catro family have?
<><> are he and his family getting multiple EITC refunds?
<><> did he and his family ever engage in voter fraud using fake ids?
=============================================
Illegals are notorious for using stolen SS nos and fake ID's.
Castro should be asked how many people he knows who are:
<><> pocketing welfare, food stamps, EITC refunds, SSI, free medical care, Section 8 housing, UI, Workmen's comp,
<><> getting hefty SS checks by claiming "asylum"
<><> falsifying apps to get fraudulent sub-prime mortgages,
<><> making false claims on IRS forms in order to get multiple EITC refunds?
<><> using illegal driver's licenses?
<><> wire-transferring money back to Mexico; the Third World,
<><> opening offshore accounts under multiple identities,
<><> are paid agents of foreign governments.
=========================================
Cashing multiple govt checks under several identities is generally used in these categories:
UI, SSI, Workmen's Comp,
TANF (temporary assistance to needy families),
WICS (food assistance),
subsidized Section 8 shelter,
ObamaPhone subsidies,
Utility Assistance subsidies,
School breakfasts/lunches/snacks subsidies,
$5000 a year EITC checks per identity.
