On May 24, the family of Santa Barbara shooting suspect Elliot Rodger released a statement through their attorney saying they are "against guns" and support gun control.
On May 23, their son allegedly shot and killed 7 people, including himself, and wounded 7 others. Breitbart News reported his motive was "retribution" for women who had rejected his advances.

The parents reported him to the cops weeks in advance.
Or the four people hit by his BMW.

One of the reasons we need guns available to us is to protect ourselves from your psycho kid.
I’m just waiting for Obutthole to claim -
“If I had a son, he would look like Eliot?”
Families of the deceased should SUE the parents for all they are worth for raising this monster man-child and then blaming guns for their raising a spoiled kid with a sense of narcissism & entitlement.
And SUE THEM for GROSS NEGLIGENCE if they knew he was mentally ill and didn’t take more steps than they did to corral him and protect others.
He also ran down some people with his car.
I guess he inherited the crazy.

Parents who allowed this to happen becuase they are to involved with their own sorry lives “so lets blame everyone and everything else but us” liberal song
Looks like they lawyered up. Blaming guns distracts the liberals and turns the attention away from their negligence...
But isn’t this proof that gun control is a FAIL. I’m betting he didn’t have a permit. So there was gun control, this guy didn’t follow the gun control rules. Gun control only controls people who will not cause a problem by breaking the law. Why would you have a law that is for people with no intention of breaking the law?
What about knives? And cars?
Sure, punish me, a law-abiding citizen, because of some California nut case.
I support gun control in government. I support disarming all politicians, judges, and DC lawyers.
Obviously, Democrats should not be allowed to have guns. Has there ever been a conservative Republican mass murderer?
Actually a pretty damned stupid move by the attorney in an attempt to pander to people who have no dog in this fight, really.
Were I another attorney representing one of the victims, I would be in the midst of filing a personal liability claim against the “anti-gun family” for 1) knowingly allowing a mentally ill son on the streets without notifying the legal system, 2) not filing a notice with the police he is unstable and shouldn’t be allowed to purchase a gun, or 3) allowed the son access to weapons directly (whatever the case was)knowing he was mentally unstable.
Try to please the national anti-gun and media, and you open yourself up for liability. Stupid, stupid move.
The best thing to do would have been express deep sympathy and let it go at that.
Everyone else is guilty, the family isn't guilty. Pure Obamunism.
A health-service or his mother saw the gunman's Youtube videos & called the local PD.
The PD asked the killer a few questions and left.
The killer admits even a cursory search of his apartment, he would have been busted.

After reading some of his complaints, it would have been simpler for the family to hire an “escort” for him since they could afford to give him a BMW.
