No plans....I was going to do some outside stuff, but not if the wind doesn’t shift and blow the smoke out the city. Big fires to the south. NOT GOOD!
Sleeping in is #1 on my list. Or really not getting up early if I don’t feel like it. I never can sleep.
And we, payroll, actually get Monday off. If parking wasn’t such a problem I would go downtown for the Memorial Day ceremony. I just can’t do all that walking anymore.
Are you venturing out? ((HUGS))

Good evening, Mac...**HUGS*...did you sally forth today? Does spring/summer traffic get worse?
Smoke covered city here. Wind is supposed to become westerly and blow it out later. We will see.

WOW! Fires up your way too? Definitely not good. Wish I could have sent some rain your way.
I’m with you...being able to sleep in is #1 on my list. Just going to hang around home, do some chores, checkbook stuff, writing, and as much as R&R as I can get.

I did indeed Sally Forth this morning, as is my wont! I crashed through the Sally Port at 0550 during a violent thunderstorm - my kind of weather! A smooth commute notwithstanding the high water.
Fortunately, the pollen count is low after the Deluge of the last 24 hours.
A (slightly) short day tomorrow - I was able to front-load this week and will break loose at 1530.
God Bless our Fallen - that's what this weekend is about for me!

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.

Good evening, Sand...((HUGS))...Friday can’t get here soon enough!!
What a week and it’s not over yet. I’m crossing my fingers that “they” will let us go home early. I’m already hearing that more that a few folks are already gone.
A Memorial Day parade, or some events for you?

I’m partial to local boy Ed Carpenter, but just want to see a good race and have a good time. My dad first took me to the track when I was six, I’ve done the same with my boys.
Your plans?

More Than We Deserve
May 23, 2014
Read: Psalm 103:6-18
Sometimes when people ask how Im doing, I reply, Better than I deserve. I remember a well-meaning person responding, Oh no, Joe, you deserve a lot, to which I replied, Not really. I was thinking about what I truly deserveGods judgment.
We easily forget how sinful we are at the core of our being. Thinking of ourselves more highly than we should diminishes our sense of deep indebtedness to God for His grace. It discounts the price He paid to rescue us.
Time for a reality check! As the psalmist reminds us, God has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities (Ps. 103:10). Considering who we are in light of a holy and just God, the only thing we truly deserve is hell. And heaven is an absolute impossibilityexcept for the gift of Christs sacrifice on the cross. If God never does anything more than redeem us, He has already done far more than we deserve. No wonder the psalmist says, As the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him (v.11).
Knowing ourselves for what we are, we cant help but say, Amazing grace, how sweet the sound! He gives us so much more than we deserve.
Lord, thank You for not dealing with me according
to my sins. I am indebted to You for the love and
grace that You demonstrated on the cross to
purchase my pardon and forgivenessfar beyond what I deserve!
If God never does anything more than redeem us, He has already done far more than we deserve.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon wrote eloquently of Psalm 103: [This psalm of David] is in his own style when at its best, and we should attribute it to his later years when he had a higher sense of the preciousness of pardon, because [of] a keener sense of sin, than in his younger days. His clear sense of the frailty of life indicates his weaker years, as also does the very [fullness] of his praiseful gratitude.
