Though in some respects this is a religious issue, I feel this should be something for general discussion since Georgetown is considered such a quality institution for education.
Maybe there should be concern that graduates coming out of Georgetown [these days] may be immoral.
Is there any such thing as a catholic university anymore? I would guess that there are as many non-catholics as there are catholics in these schools.
And sadly neither is Notre Dame, if people want to go to a real Catholic college I highly recommend Steubenville, wish I would have gone there.
Let’s be discreet. The American Jesuit order is simply not what it once was.The Jesuits are dominated by some very odd men.
Most so called Catholic colleges and universities are not Catholic and do not provide a Catholic education. The self-indulgence and political correctness of academia is in opposition to genuine Catholic values.
Most so called Catholic politicians are not genuine Catholics.
Georgetown went moslem after taking $20M here and $30M there from Saudis (eg. al-Waleed) to build Wahhabi ‘centers for understanding’ in the middle of campus.
So, is Scalia calling on Cardinal Wuerl to do something about it? If that’s the case, he should have done so long ago.
I remember when the Jesuits misbehaved at Arizona State University in the 1960s, supporting the anti-war movement and giving aid and comfort to violent student radicals. The bishop at the time arranged the turning over of their ministry to the Dominican Order, and that was the end of the trouble and strife.
Nobody went into too much detail about how he pulled this off. However, imagine the surprise if the Cardinal suggested that the Jesuits needed to clean house at Georgetown.
