A California man has been seeking treatment for Lyme disease, something he contracted while on active duty as a Marine, but hes having a hard time finding a doctor in the San Francisco Bay area that accepts his insurance.
The insurance companys advice? Cancel his plan. KPIX-TV, though, says the fact that he cant find a doctor within a reasonable distance violates state law and nothing appears to be taking place to fix the issue.
The former Marine identified by KPIX by only his first name, Kyle, is covered by Anthem BlueCross through the state exchange Covered California.
I was on the phone with Anthem for two hours while they were trying to find me a doctor within 20 miles. Finally a supervisor came on the phone and said Sir, we have to go, we have other people to help, and advised me I need to cancel my plan, Kyle told the news station.
KPIX pointed out that Californias law requires insurers to have enough doctors within 15 miles of a patients home for them to acquire an appointment in 15 days or less.
When Kyle looks at the list of doctors that Anthem on its website, he said it shows more than 80 doctors within 20 miles, even though in reality he cant find one.

Full title: Former Marine Cant Find a Doctor for His Obamacare Insurance Plan So He Says the Company Actually Suggested He Just Do This
VA?? LOL
If you want to see how bad Obozocare is going to get, just take a look at the VA.
Isn’t it a shame that an American Fighting Man has to hide his identity in his own country? The possibility for ‘retaliation’ has always been there, but seems far more plausible during the Obama Era, where one must fear their government more than ever before. If he wanted to be anonymous, he should not have shown his face. In a way though, I’m glad he did, because it helps the reader to personalize this travesty. Sometimes it is best to hide in plain sight.
So no health insurance. Obamacare fine. If he applies for hardship waiver of the fine, then they'll hit him with the $250,000 penalty.
"The Trial Obamacare," by Franz Kafka.
He should just go to the nearest ER and throw up on the desk. He will be seen then ;)
Welcome to Obamaworld, where you pay for insurance that treats things you don’t need or want and where you can’t find a doctor or hospital to take it.
...Sir, we have to go, we have other people to help, and advised me I need to cancel my plan, Kyle told the news station...
It doesn’t require much imagination to think about calling your insurance carrier and after 2 hours being told something similar.
California's laws work great, they have a law for everything there.
He could go to the VA.
Think about it..
- The loons pass a law making it unprofitable to see patients with OC policies
- Doctors quit practicing medicine or quit accepting OC policies, because if they don’t they will go out of business. Who would have guessed that the result would be a shortage of.....doctors.
- The loons then pass a law requiring the *insurance company* to have xx number of doctors within a minimum distance who will not only be willing to lose money on every OC patient, but also willing to schedule them ahead of the patients that actually pay their overhead to practice medicine.
- When the *insurance company* can’t find morons willing to run a business in the red, the loons then fine the *insurance company*. Which then raises rates to pay for the fines. Or, as some insurance companies are doing, they simply leave the state and stop selling insurance policies there. That’s already happened in a number of states.
Be prepared for the next law which will make it illegal for doctors to not accept OC. I guarantee that is coming, already been threatened by the loons. When that causes a mass exodus of doctors from active practice, it will be followed by a law that makes it illegal for doctors to close a practice without the permission of the government. Think I’m kidding?
I was joking, at the current VA problems!
Yes, lots of them have insurance for causes that were not service connected. This said it was contracted in the service. I hope it was in written records. Get them in writing!
I hope you are wrong about the long wait, but fear you are correct.
Nothing wrong with the VA. I go frequently to the Baltimore VA and love it. A few bad apples spoil the bunch I guess.
Well surprise, surprise, surprise.......
falling out of your chair and staying still on the floor brings you to the head of the daily line too!
I know I am right about the long wait. It took two years to get a hearing, it took three more years to find out our appeal was denied. So hear we sit. We had least got him a 40 percent rating.

$250,000 penalty??????
Need more info on this!
There are opportunities waiting for entrepreneurs in the healthcare black market. When the system doesn’t work, work around it.
LOL, maybe! A while back I heard there was some poor soul that passed away in the ER. I forget where, but people just kept walking by.
