"I have evidence that not only are they hiding it, there's an intent to hide it. I can't disclose that evidence yet, but I have evidence there was a systematic, intentional decision to withhold certain documents from Congress."
On Friday, Trey Gowdy appeared on Fox News to discuss Benghazi and the convening of new committee to investigate when he made the above comment about the Obama adminstration's obvious cover-up. "We're just sick of it," he continued. "So we're gonna get him to come and explain why we're getting documents 20 months late."

In his trademark style, Congressman Gowdy cuts through the crap and gets right down to the brass tacks. The Obama administration may be able to sneak past the press, but if Trey Gowdy has anything to say about it, they will not sneak past Congress or the American people.

If the Dems don’t participate in this “bipartisan” Select Committee, the media sits pretty, better positioned to blow this off as a Republican witch hunt, timed soley for the mid-terms election cycle. Boehner stalled so long, that good Republicans look calculating rather than sincere.

I was just telling wifey last night that I believe the democrats have a disppsition to lie about everything. That it is beyond their genetic code to tell the truth because they lie, obfuscate, mid-direct, conspire and as a whole they cannot answer a simple question honestly.

anyone who doubts or maligns Trey Gowdy is gonna have me to deal with. Umm, excuse me? Since when don't conservatives reserve the right to doubt or question ANYthing we hear from ANY politician?
I've stated my thoughts clearly: I like Gowdy and want to beleive him, but there's a lot of mixed info out there. I will continue to follow his role in all these developments, and I appreciate other FReepers who supply information.
I'd remind you, Walrus, that many FReepers also loved and (many) wanted to crown Paul Ryan, Kelly Ayotte, and yes -- Chris Christie. Doubt isn't a bad thing, and truth will stand up to it.

If the CIA whistleblowers questions lead in the right direction, has Obama/Hillary engaged in an illegal arming of Al Qaida, similar to the Democrat investigative love fest known as Iran/Contra?
Is that what we are really talking about with Benghazi?
Anyone concerned some rinos were in on this and it will be a kangaroo select committee? We don't know yet who's leading on the committee.
If it's a genuine investigation those who worked for years should lead it. It's looks like rinos are trying to take ownership for the work conservatives had had the courage to do.

I think you're right. The Democrats are afraid of what might come out if there is a serious investigation (damaging both to Obama and to the Crown Princess Hillary), so they figure if they refuse to cooperate the media will paint it as a purely partisan Republican effort which can be ignored completely or treated as a minor story while they direct the public's attention elsewhere.
The Obama administration should have turned over the "smoking gun" e-mail a long time ago, and now that it is public, they are getting minimal criticism for failing to produce it earlier. So they are likely to continue to refuse to produce evidence.
