Berlin (AFP) - Dozens of specialists from the US Central Intelligence Agency and Federal Bureau of Investigation are advising the Ukrainian government, a German newspaper reported Sunday.
Citing unnamed German security sources, Bild am Sonntag said the CIA and FBI agents were helping Kiev end the rebellion in the east of Ukraine and set up a functioning security structure.

Actually, it is a recipe for disaster. The Ukrainians should run when the CIA/FBI offer their familiar assistance, “we’re from the US Government, and we’re here to help.”

I don't know if you're ascribing opposition to US intervention in Ukraine as leftism...or just wrong-headedness.
I understand that many people who do not undertake any serious study of the facts could do either, or worse: Accuse those who do not support intervention as supporters of Putin, Slavic Fascist Imperialism and Treason against the USA.
If anyone who is an advocate for either side in Ukraine thinks they have some sort of moral high ground they are either delusional or corrupt. Both sides are lying, ruthless murderers.
And Putin probably started it, at least the overt stages.
There's been English speakers in Kiev since the LAST Presidential election there, and German speakers for several years before that.
That’s ok though(as long as it’s not Ruskies getting involved).
Many of the pro-Russia, pro-Putin posters here, are spouting the same anti-Americanism that we used to see in the free papers passed out just outside the gates of our military bases.
Russian sources are pasted all over FR, and I can go here https://www.wsws.org/en/ to read the pro-Russian arguments that I will see many of the posters here making with great passion and self righteous.
If you are old enough to remember the early 1970s, and were reading the left’s radical publishings, then you must see the similarity, actually, the duplication.
How many are actually supporting Russia and Putin? I would think very few.
Most of what I see are folks who are opposed to intervening in Ukraine (or Georgia etc.) because they believe we have no vital US interest there. Certainly that is my position.
But I in NO WAY think the Russians are the good guys.
And neither are the folks in Kiev.
Right..... Plus it lets us yell about Russian operatives. Ours have been there since the start of the first revolution, and now that we are once again failing we are mad about the Russians retaliating.

I'm OK with political support, loans (really gifts) etc.
