Somebody will do a Ph.D thesis in political science one day on the psychology of this stuff. Follow the link to hear the full clip. Its delightful.
(snip)
Imagine the kind of conservative bubble in which the thought of Sarah Palin as a serious political contender is considered incontestable. Imagine the kind of conservative bubble in which holding a female who once ran for vice president of the United States responsible for something she said in a public speech is considered an act of sexism and disloyalty.
To be clear, Im not offended by this freakshow vulgarian in the least. But as an inveterate rubbernecker, I am amazed by the undying power of the Georgetown Cocktail Party meme on the populist right. They plainly believe that the only reason any conservative would question their dogmas is because of immoral reasons (disloyalty, cowardice, snobbery, a desire to suck up to the Enemy, etc.). This is not how you endure as a political movement, and not how you build up a party. Everybody on the outside of the bubble just looks in and marvels at the strange habits and exotic customs on display.
Note to Conservatism, Inc.: Mark Levin isnt the future.

Dreher is one of those conservative apologists. This way he and his wife will still get invited to the right parties in Dallas.
I’m sure he’s pro-choice now too. He’s one of those a-holes that once they change their life they demand everyone follow them.
THAT is how little Dreher knows of Levin. His rare public appearances notwithstanding, Levin is almost a recluse, and has referred to himself as a "Jewish Monk."
He thinks Levin “is not the future”? This from a guy that barely gets read and no one remembers him.
He wouldn’t get five listeners to a radio talk show.
Yet another reason why Sarah P. would win... She has every relevant conservative talk-show host squarely in her corner.
Levin recently released a book on how to fix America by going to the States (bypassing Washington) and getting the Constitution changed.
Rod Dreher types on his keyboard in his rural town of 1700.
Probably in the basement.
In his pyjamas.
Dreher is right about there being a bubble. He is simply wrong about which is the outside and which is the inside.
Dreher is a soft-hearted, confused and self-important person. Being a pundit is a tough racket - he benefits from being criticized by Levin.
Thank you. Saved me the trouble...
Dreher is/was one of the most unreadable i.e. dull writers on NRO. In fact, they might have gotten rid of him. He’s a self-named “crunchy conservative.” You don’t want to know...it’s too boring to describe.
Don’t mess with Sarah!
Where’s the BARF ALERT?
Neither are you and your pals, pal. Go over the cliff but I'm not following. As a matter of fact... all of you can go straight to ****!
He was one of those mushy folks at NRO for a while
I’m not sure if you were being ironic when you did exactly what Dreher said you would.
Maybe you are referring to his preemptive disclaimer here:

Look up cultural hegemony and the Gramscian influence on the political science scumbag writers claiming either or both sides of the political spectrum.
They deserve nothing better than the worst ridicule.
Anybody who goes after Levin is not much of an American.
I don’t know if any of you are interested or not:
