Donald Sterling has been shamed, fined $2.5 million and banned for life by the NBA for his incendiary remarks about race. But none of that changes the fact that Sterling still owns the Los Angeles Clippers, which gives him options."This may set up nicely for him," said David Carter, executive director of USC's Sports Business Institute. "He could ride off into the sunset a la Frank McCourt."

I bet he:

1. Brings criminal charges against his ex-girlfriend for illegal wiretapping.
2. Brings criminal charges against TMZ for distributing known illegal recordings.
3. Goes through his contracts with the NBA and sues them like crazy.
4. Ties up the Clippers so that Geffen and Magic Johnson can’t buy them

Look on the bright side!

Victims Industry sees "Sterling" opportunity

Wall Street: Biggest quarter ever for Victims' Industry, "Unbelievable!" Concerns surface as Victims' Industry companies refuse to sell shares to whites. "Not racism," says the Street. Prices could go up tenfold, earnings even more.

Celebrating 100 years!

“There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs-partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. ~ Booker T. Washington (1856-1915.) ~ Educator, Author, Civil Rights Leader

A legal expert on Fox said Sterling might have recourse through the courts. There could be right to privacy issues and questions of due process in the commissioner’s decision to impose harsh punishment and any vote by the other owners forcing Sterling to sell.

Donald Sterling has options to weigh after NBA ban

It seems like Sterling should be able to hire some shysters who could get the penalty reduced. It seems kinda severe.

Odd how newspapers aren’t repeating over and over that Sterling is a Democrat and has donated millions to Democrats.

I sure if they caught the Kock brothers saying the same types of things they would leave out the ‘Republican connection’.../s

eff you LA Times

Good plan. I'd throw it in their faces though. I'd add "You want me out of the NBA so bad? Fine, lets figure the price of my share ... Now add a zero on the end of that. You want me out, it'll cost you 10x. How bad do you want it? I'm going to start sending free tickets to the KKK and local skinheads. I'll hold press conferences and say you all secretly agree with me and don't want me to leave. I'll give this team and league such a bad name you'll beg me to stop or leave in a year. So what's it going to be?"

What they don't realize is that far from trashing this guy, they just put him in the driver's seat. He is going to laugh all the way to the bank.

A legal expert on Fox said Sterling might have recourse through the courts

What about the girlfriend? One news report claimed that she said she was "devastated" and that she did not release the tapes. If that's the case (or it can't be proved she released the tapes) would she have court cases for her privacy issues?

That moronic, phony, psalm-singin’ hypocrite, Bob Costas, said Sterling was very litigious. So here’s hoping your suggestions become reality.

Jim Gray said on Fox this morning that Sterling could sell the Clippers for “more than a billion” dollars.

In Forbes’ most recent listing of the world’s 50 most valuable sports franchises, there isn’t an NBA team in the top 40. The Knicks are 43rd at $780 million and are the only NBA team in the top 50.

Sterling may sell and since he paid $12 million to buy the team in the 1980s, he’ll get a good return. But he won’t get the huge dollars some people think.

I wonder about this girlfriend.

1. why was she taping conversations?
2. why do the conversations sound as if she is scripted, and leading the conversation in a certain direction?

3. Is she basically a whore? who is paying her bills? What does she do for a living?

4. Were these tapes made illegally?
5. Why is she being sued by Sterling’s wife?
6. What is her connection to Magic Johnson, and Johnson’s desire to buy the Clippers?

7. What is in it for her? 15 minutes of fame? Book deals, reality TV?

What is this world coming to? One cannot now have a private conversation with their mistress without it becoming a matter for the courts? This is what one gets when one lets the little head do all the thinking.

Shortly before NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced the league's punitive actions, however, Fox News contributor Jim Gray reported that Sterling had told him he would not sell.

File this under: Sterling Silver
