NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar attacked the collective outrage emanating from Americas media over Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterlings alleged racist remarks, calling the publication of a private conversation sleazy and wondering why earlier, more public manifestations of racism failed to similarly shock.
In an op-ed published in Time, Abdul-Jabbar explains that were witnessing a veritable finger-wagging Olympics . . . all over the latest in a long line of rich white celebrities to come out of the racist closet.
Yes, Im angry, too, Abdul-Jabbar admits, but not just about the sins of Donald Sterling. Ive got a list.

Many do...
Almost anyone can be taken down at any time, and racism is one of the effective ways to do it. There is always more to it than meets the eye, but the bottom line is that the big shots couldn't really care less if Sterling is racist -- if they cared, they would have done something long ago. They didn't.
This is a teachable moment. Too bad the race hustlers got out in front of this mess and wasted it.
I heard Meta World Peace was on Greta with such an attempt. Did anyone here see it?
This is an old school NBA guy that has probably been through far more racism than any of these new jerks that are now complaining.
If racism was really a concern the media would be discussing the nasty hearted comments and politics that emanate from the Congressional Black Caucus and the NAACP, not to mention our current Attorney General and POTUS.
Kareem has it about right. Assuming the tape is legit, he’s got issues and has major consequences on the way. He’s simply in a business where that cannot stand. The person who recorded and leaked the tapes deserves jail time. There are no winners here.
Yeah, I saw the start of the Meta Peace piece on Greta, but he was so badly inarticulate, I had to change the channel.
But what does Lew Alcinder think?
Wasn’t this Muslim jackass once quoted as being gleeful at news of plane crashes carrying white passengers?
Kareem, the wordsmith. I’m impressed.
“I’ve got a list” of plenty of so-called liberals and Democrats
He thinks you can’t spell his former name.
Exactly! How honest is he willing to be?
When I was a kid, I thought his name was Lou Al Cinder. Short for Louis Allan.
Too bad.
Educated too. How many NBA players go around making Lord of the Fly references. How many can actually read today.
Now that there is truly funny...
I know Kareem was at one time into guns and the Single Action Shooting Society. I once ran into him at a gunshop in Orange County, California.
