Why Science Does Not Disprove God

But much more important than these conundrums is the persistent question of the fine-tuning of the parameters of the Universe: Why is our Universe so precisely tailor-made for the emergence of life? This question has never been answered satisfactorily, and I believe that it will never find a scientific solution. For the deeper we delve into the mysteries of physics and cosmology, the more the Universe appears to be intricate and incredibly complex. To explain the quantum-mechanical behavior of even one tiny particle requires pages and pages of extremely advanced mathematics. Why are even the tiniest particles of matter so unbelievably complicated? It appears that there is a vast, hidden “wisdom,” or structure, or a knotty blueprint for even the most simple-looking element of nature. And the situation becomes much more daunting as we expand our view to the entire cosmos.

No scientist,or group of scientists, can give irrefutable proof of God's existence, one way or the other. However,I think scientists, astronomers for one, routinely provide information *strongly suggesting* that God exists.Anyone looking at those photos from the Hubbell Telescope would,at the very least, get the sense that “all this didn't just happen by accident”.

“When people ask me if a god created the universe, I tell them that the question itself makes no sense. Time didn’t exist before the big bang, so there is no time for god to make the universe in. It’s like asking directions to the edge of the earth; The Earth is a sphere; it doesn’t have an edge; so looking for it is a futile exercise. We are each free to believe what we want, and it’s my view that the simplest explanation is; there is no god. No one created our universe, and no one directs our fate. This leads me to a profound realization; There is probably no heaven, and no afterlife either. We have this one life to appreciate the grand design of the universe, and for that I am extremely grateful.” Stephen Hawking

“The stuff going on in our brain is not consciousness. It is merely the brain computer doing its thing - thinking, generating emotions, etc.”

That is highly debatable and can only ultimately be a matter of opinion.

If consciousness is considered supernatural or miraculous, it is beyond the ability of Science to study.

That is exactly my point.

Again, that is exactly the other half of my point (and Lewis’). :-)

Pretending that there is a conflict between science & religion is one of the silliest fallacies that the Left has promoted. Both science & religion have as a primary purpose, the pursuit of truth. As the pioneer American anthropologist, wrote over 160 years ago,

Man can invent nothing in science or religion but falsehood; and all the truths which he discovers are but facts or laws which have emanated from the Creator.

What we call inventions are merely the utilization of aspects of natural reality; the putting together of things that are, in useful ways; often involving new discoveries of what is, and its potential uses. While the theological pursuit is to understand the ultimate source of all things; and maybe. within the limited capacity of human intelligence, to better understand the whys of new discoveries..

Forget God for the moment and just confront humanists/materialists with the supernatural, the immaterial. Mind, emotions, beauty, rights, morality. If they cannot explain those by science, how do they think that they can easily dismiss God?

2 big reasons:
1 - they aren’t trying, they’re busy figuring out how the world works and not terribly concerned with whose religious beliefs are challenged by their findings
2 - you can’t prove a negative, which they know, which is why 1

God is above proof

According to classical documents, humans have "identified" many gods.

Think about it.

So, Stephen Hawking says he is “extremely grateful”.

To whom?

since Aquinas has already proven that science, a form of reason based on causality, cannot exist without God as first cause, it follows that darwinin or macro evolution is not science.

by extension, the existence of reason and causality damns all leftist ideology as non-science.

"The idea that God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by God one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying... it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity."

You can prove a negative. First you determine all possible ways for it to be positive - then eliminate all of them.

This is why Atheists are full of it. They lack the tiniest minuscule faction of knowledge of everything yet claim with absolute certainty they know there is no God. There is noway they can KNOW that. It’s only their personal opinion based on belief with faith mankind will never find enough positive evidence to convince them God exists. Thus Atheism is a belief based on faith = a religion.

IMHO opinion Atheists do believe in God but are terrified of him - why else are they so emotional and hateful of something they do not believe in?

That is my observation as well.

These comments: “When people ask me if a god created the universe, I tell them that the question itself makes no sense. Time didn’t exist before the big bang, so there is no time for god to make the universe in. It’s like asking directions to the edge of the earth; The Earth is a sphere; it doesn’t have an edge; so looking for it is a futile exercise.”

No you can’t prove a negative, because you can never find all the possible ways for it to be positive for elimination. There’s always some other possible way. Especially when your whole solipsism is based on the supernatural.

Yeah you can with enough knowledge. And Atheist lack the knowledge foundation to support their claim there is no God. At the most they can claim they do not know.
