Why Science Does Not Disprove God

But much more important than these conundrums is the persistent question of the fine-tuning of the parameters of the Universe: Why is our Universe so precisely tailor-made for the emergence of life? This question has never been answered satisfactorily, and I believe that it will never find a scientific solution. For the deeper we delve into the mysteries of physics and cosmology, the more the Universe appears to be intricate and incredibly complex. To explain the quantum-mechanical behavior of even one tiny particle requires pages and pages of extremely advanced mathematics. Why are even the tiniest particles of matter so unbelievably complicated? It appears that there is a vast, hidden “wisdom,” or structure, or a knotty blueprint for even the most simple-looking element of nature. And the situation becomes much more daunting as we expand our view to the entire cosmos.

Children trying to understand the mind, the works and the power of the Great Watchmaker when the answer is so simple:

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" Genesis 1:1

“Why Science Does Not Disprove God”

God is above proof. Science makes no attempt to prove/disprove God.

“science” can’t exist without the Biblical God.

There’s no point to it if you can’t depend on the consistency promised therein.

Science doesn't even touch upon consciousness.

Science therefore can't explain us, much less God.

Placing Infinite on to a microscope slide is a bit tricky. Never seems to be a big enough slide nor made of the right material.

“Science” is a word. But when you see what people do under the umbrella of that word, it’s pretty easy to see why that activity can’t disprove God.

I’d like to see them prove human consciousness exists. If they didn’t have it themself, they would never believe it exists.

i.e. Sometimes experience is all the proof you need.

Oops. You beat me to it. Looks like we both read C. S. Lewis...

True science is a friend of the Bible.

True science mocks much of what is commonly held and taught in popular culture.

Yes. science does not address supernatural things and cannot prove or disprove God.

God’s pretty smart. Why wouldn’t he use science to create and change things?

Science addresses consciousness.

It doesn’t and can’t address it as a supernatural phenomenon (if one sees it that way) nor as related to the soul.

But the neurophysiology associated with consciousness is studied.

I’m curious, what does CS Lewis say about this?

Science thinks they must reproduce God before they believe.

In his book “miracles” he describes a miracle as something from outside our physical realm entering into it. He uses human consciousness as a perfect example. We have yet to make any progress explaining or measuring human consciousness. We only no it exists because we experience it. The stuff going on in our brain is not consciousness. It is merely the brain computer doing its thing - thinking, generating emotions, etc.

The neurophysiology folks have made zero progress measuring human consciousness. Only the functioning of the mind, which works like the mind of an animal, can be measured.

Why is our Universe so precisely tailor-made for the emergence of life?

Seems like the wrong question to me.

That's like asking why our eyes are spaced 65 mm apart and that happens to fit our eyeglasses.

And science can’t prove why logic exists or how it can be used to allow science to be relied on.

Why would God “use science”?

Science is simply observation, experimentation, and interpretation of the physical laws.

God created those laws, and has no need to discover them.

Here’s a better one, then -

why is it that the conditions necessary for life coincide with the conditions necessary to let intelligent life observe and explore the creation?

Roger that. I’d like a pound of love and a quarter pound of hate. Everybody knows they exist, but also everybody knows they’re immaterial. Materialism can’t even come close to answering the most important questions.

Agenda-science constantly makes anti-God statements. While this may not be an attempt at disproving, it is nevertheless a misuse of science.
