Science addresses consciousness.

It doesn’t and can’t address it as a supernatural phenomenon (if one sees it that way) nor as related to the soul.

But the neurophysiology associated with consciousness is studied.

I’m curious, what does CS Lewis say about this?

In his book “miracles” he describes a miracle as something from outside our physical realm entering into it. He uses human consciousness as a perfect example. We have yet to make any progress explaining or measuring human consciousness. We only no it exists because we experience it. The stuff going on in our brain is not consciousness. It is merely the brain computer doing its thing - thinking, generating emotions, etc.

The neurophysiology folks have made zero progress measuring human consciousness. Only the functioning of the mind, which works like the mind of an animal, can be measured.
