Is it okay to not care that Cliven Bundy is a bigot?
The Daily Caller ^ | April 24, 2014 | Jim Treacher

Posted on 04/25/2014 1:48:55 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

I haven’t been following the Cliven Bundy case because, believe it or not, southwestern grazing disputes have never been among my interests. I know the Daily Caller has done stories about him because I’ve seen the headlines, but I haven’t followed the whole thing. I haven’t written a word about him before today. I don’t care.

But now that this Bundy fellow has publicly said things that have offended a lot of black people, suddenly, he represents everybody to the right of Karl Marx. Suddenly I’m obliged to have an opinion about him.

If you want to know what I think about some rancher in Nevada, I tend to agree with the always delightful and perceptive Kira Davis. Be warned: I’m told she isn’t a proper African-American because she’s a conservative. Be that as it may, here she’s 100% correct.

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

What Kira said.

I don’t know if Bundy’s grazing dispute has any merit. And I certainly wouldn’t subscribe to his newsletter. All I know is that he’s the latest private citizen to stand up to the government and be excoriated by the media for it. Like Kira said, it’s not about one guy. It’s about the media abusing their power to stifle dissent against government control. Just ask anybody who’s been raked over the coals for daring to complain about their health insurance. Ask Joe the Plumber. Ask Ben Carson. Ask Carrie Prejean. Ask anybody who inconveniences the left.

The message is simple: Submit, or this will happen to you too. And it’ll continue, whether or not some rancher you’ve never heard of is a dumb bigot....

What matters is that the Federal Government thinks the right thing to do is go to war against American citizens and use military-like organizations, including snipers, to govern them.

If there was ever in this country an organization or creature that needed to be run over by a steam roller, it is any denizen or group of same that occupy positions of authority in the United States.

It’s about the principle, not the person. Why is he holding “court” making comments using a mic and amps anyway? It would have made sense to maintain a low profile while the surrogates dealt with this in the public arena. Now all we will be hearing is not Obama’s desire to loose tens of thousands of hardened criminals on the streets out of “fairness” but what one guy in Nevada said.

I understand what Mr. Bundy was attempting to say and don't sense racial hostility in his attempt. It's a difficult subject to talk about and most people aren't great orators.

The MSM’s point is that racists deserve to be harassed, and worse, by the feds.

Democrats of old used their own money to buy slaves. Present day Democrats use tax money to buy their slaves.

Reid takes a tidbit of an interview, screams racist and demands Republicans and black leaders condemn Bundy (even though Bundy is, I believe, a democrat). Then the ‘full version’ of the tape comes out, conveniently only after the Reps have made damn fools of themselves apologizing all over the place as Reid preens his feathers, but not in time to make the evening news. Someone was a good little facist puppy dog. I wonder what bone Reid will throw them?

I’d like to know where the hell the people were, who are supposed to be protecting Bundy from beartraps such as this? Which individual led into this discussion of blacks and hispanics, why wasn’t it recognized for the trojan horse it was, why wasn’t such a trap anticipated as a highly probable event, and what did that line of questioning have to do with thugs murdering cows, pushing little old ladies to the ground and shoving guns in people’s faces to collect a bill, anyway?

I hope a lesson was learned - by everyone - that if Reid is the first person on the morning news cycle with a smear campaign in hand, it’s probably fishy.

Hopefully this morning’s news cycle will expose the smear campaign for what it was so we can refocus the heat back on Reid and back on the real message at hand - government heavyhandness and thuggery, threats of lethal force against a citizen from a senate leader, and smear and intimidation campaigns levied by a senate leader against any dissent from citizens.

Look at it this way... If (and I say IF) Bundy said those things in those contexts.. he is Ned in the First Reader to our VP. Biden has said way worse and more stupid! This is the media’s way to paint Bundy as some redneck hating man; thus, he doesn’t “deserve” equality or protection. Paint him as a “monster” and the American people will turn a blind eye when the government swoops in and burns his ranch, or kills him. Just my opinion....

Haven't we called the Welfare State the Democrat Plantation for years?

Is Bundy wrong to decry the loss of family ties, of self-respect, of work ethic that accompany the multigenerational welfare state? Is he wrong to point out the obvious: that those who have no guidance oft go astray?

Are the Statists on both sides of the aisle so willing to ignore the obvious, to wit, that their social engineering and the cradle to grave micromanagement of people's lives by the Government is a dismal failure? They only need look at the social and cultural wreckage they have created to see what is obvious to the rest of us.

The only problem is that they call it "art".

Remember folks, its the liberals were of dealing with, who will do what ever, say what ever and twist what YOU say to get their point across.

Cliven Bundy’s statement was totally twisted to read and sound in the liberals favor, with full intentions to be used to discredit Bundy. Reading his comments and watching the you tube video when he made his statement left me with a perfect understanding of what Bundy said. The media is doing its damnedest to take popular support from Bundy.

Perhaps someoone in the GOP should propose a constitutional amendment that is basically in support of what the media and the Democrats are doing in this case. The amendment would basically say an American loses certain contstitutional protectons if a panel of sociological experts - drawn perhaps from the media, universities and minority advocacy groups - determines that the citizen has made a racial utterance, and is underserving of either the benefit of any doubt about the racial interpretations of the statement or any forgiveness, either because of a lack of repentance, being affiliated with right-wind groups, and/or having too many characterists associated with prior racists in our country, such as being white or Christian or male.

Accordingly, those who are judged by this panel to have made a racist utternance, and are also deemed not worthy of any doubts or forgivenss, will forever be barred from seeking any legal redress against any federal or state government based on a claim that they have been damaged by the unconstitutional acts of a governmental authority.

Naturally, the media and the Democrats will want to call this a stunt and also say that this proposal is completely ridiculous - at which point the GOP should basically say - YES, it’s ridiculous, so then why are we not talking about the constittutionality of the government’s actions in this case, as that is a core question that is worth considering whether or not the person who is being damaged by this acitons might be a racist.

My comment: the concept that truth is its own defense is now void in the US.

Bundy’s argument with the FedGov is valid and his arguments are good ... his remarks are unfortunate in that they will become the focus and not the actual issue at hand.

If we were to believe the media...

Bundy is “a bigot” (based on editing of comment to make him seem like one).

Trayvon was a nine year old (based on photo).

Zimmerman was a large white man (based on doctored photo).

Zimmerman was a white bigot (based on edited 911 call in which the media outlet deleted portion where dispatcher asked for description of suspect).

Al Gore won the 2000 election.

Bush is a war criminal.

Obama is your messiah.

Let he who is innocent cast the first stone...

No man is perfect, no man is perfectly understood and by what right does anyone have to throw stones?

The left is very good at throwing them at all who do not ‘toe the line’ to their commandments of political/culture correctness.

Bundy was inelegant, but truthful. I too am known for what I call...’brutal honesty.’ This freedom is not the Liberty Lincoln had envisioned for the slave.

From Nathan Bedford's about page:

… the modern tendency to indulge certain taboos such as, Nazism, anti-Semitism, and the Holocaust, pedophilia, and, the most incendiary tripwire taboo of all, racism. These taboos have become weapons of the left in the war that is raging in America, a civil war waged against us by the left. I believe that the Democrat party in the extreme elements of it on the left have become increasingly philosophically bankrupt but the main prop of this empty vessel is the unshakable belief that they are superior to the right because we are racists. There are ways to react to this propaganda: the first is to cravenly succumb to it, which is the present practice of the modern Republican Party and it has been exemplified by the pathetic, interminable apologies of Trent Lott and Senator Allen. The second is to brazen a situation out as exemplified by the post gaffe performances of senators Byrd and Dowd. A third way, Nathan Bedford Forrest's way, is to declare, "damn your eyes, here I stand."
