When the government owns the land and natural resources and controls production from same, it's called communism. The Founders intended Americans to enjoy their God-given liberty. The constitution was written to severely restrict government power and ensure freedom. The founders never intended for an all powerful central government to own the land or to control the means of production. They limited the central government to about 18 enumerated powers and left all others to the people and the states to decide locally. The United States was intended to be a free Republic governed at various levels by elected representatives, working within the framework of and restrained by the constitution, not a communist state controlled by unelected bureaucrats and corrupt politicians of a powerful central government.
It's way past time for we the people to tell the bureaucrats and the corrupt crony politicians who unlawfully change the constitution by bureaucratic regulation, congressional act, judicial activism or executive fiat to get lost. If we are ever going to restore our constitution and reclaim our liberty, we're going to have to be a bit more assertive about it.
The current activities in Nevada, Utah and Texas are a wake-up call for the people. When I see men and women determined to fight for our constitution and our freedom against heavily armed, lawless, entrenched bureaucrats, I feel optimistic about our prospects for long lived liberty. We need more of this, not less.
“Anyone know the status of the land where the nukes were tested?”
Federal in New Mexico(whitesands), and i’m all but certain all the Nevada Test Sites were all on ‘federal land’ lands in title as well.
Irradiated?
Lol
The land was considered as territorial lands and should have been turned over to the states as they became states.

As a man who grew up in just such a Western State surrounded by such Federal land I don’t disagree.
But I would point out that the Federal Government spent millions of dollars in Acquiring that land from Mexico. The Eastern States that payed for that land should be able to resell it just as they sold the land in the other states West of the Mississippi river.
I think this is fair, All we of the West have the most legitimate right to demand is that they keep their compact and continue to offer the land up for sale as they had prior to the 1970’s.
The Sagebrush Rebellion lives!!!
I agree with you, Jim. But we also need to spend more time studying how these corporate laws are being abused to serve the needs of communism. How many thousands of hours do people spend over guns and prepping? And how many hours do people spend studying the basics of law?
Generations of brave Americans fought to protect an America based on laws and not men. We owe them to learn about the thing they fought to protect. Because the fact is that the Left does just that. They study the laws, and then twist them to their needs - and no one stands in their way, because no one understands how they’ve done what they’ve done
We - must - understand what they’ve done, and - how - they’ve done it. Without that knowledge, we’re fighting blind. And among other things, we are vulnerable to every RINO that comes along, let alone Leftist. We have to bail, yes - but we also have to fix the hole in the boat. Or we simple won’t get anywhere but exhausted.

1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rents of land to public purposes. Americans do these with actions such as the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (1868), and various zoning, school & property taxes. Also the Bureau of Land Management, (Zoning laws are the first step to government property ownership).
4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants (those who leave the country) and rebels. Americans call it government seizures, asset seizure laws, Public "law" 99-570 (1986); Executive order 11490, sections 1205, 2002 which gives private land to the Department of Urban Development; or the IRS confiscation of property without due process. Asset forfeiture laws are used by DEA, IRS, ATF, BLM, etc...).
7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan. Americans call it by names such as The Desert Entry Act and The Department of Agriculture Thus read "controlled or subsidized" rather than "owned" This is easily seen in these as well as the Department of Commerce and Labor, Department of Interior, the Environmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Mines, National Park Service, and the IRS control of business through corporate regulations. Currently, the US government virtually owns General Motors, AIG insurance, and other banks and companies it has bailed out, another unconstitutional idea that has just been allowed recently.
