Some Republicans are pushing for their party to drop its opposition to same-sex marriage as public opinion on the issue shifts rapidly and the party tries to woo younger voters more supportive of gay unions. [ ]
But social conservatives warn that Republicans could lose loyal voters by softening their stance. A majority of Republicans still oppose gay marriage.

The GOP would dry up as a going concern if it surrenders to the left
Which is why the media publishes these things all the time
“Republican activists...”
Democrats.
Giving even a fraction of an inch to the sodomites opens the door to abortion on demand and legalizing pedophilia. The fascists pushing the evil homosexual agenda are the same crowd of leftists that advocates the creation of baby killing factories.
go ahead ‘ Lot’s wife ‘ , just take a quick look back . It can’t do any harm....
There are three deal breakers for me: abortion, homosexuality, and amnesty. I will not vote for someone who is pro-abort, pro-sodomite, or pro-amnesty. If I wanted any of those things, I might as well vote for a Democrat. Truth be told, the Republican Party is almost indistinguishable from the Democrats anyway. We saw how fiscally conservative they were during the Bush administration—not at all. We also saw how much they accomplished on the social issues—not much. If my choice is limited to commie pinkos and commie pinko wannabes, I opt out. A pox on both parties!
With the nation going the way of Sodom, same sex marriage is now seen as a loser issue by pragmatic Rovian Republicans with no principles. I see Paul Ryan vs Ted Cruz as the watershed moment, of Ryan defeats Cruz, it means that the Regain coalition is officially dead, replaced by a more libertarian vision of conservatism that excludes Christian conservatives and moral issues.
Wow, some terrible spelling in that post of mine. No more wine coolers before posting.
Seventeen states allow gay marriage and 59 percent of Americans supported it in a recent Washington Post-ABC News poll.”
Those numbers are cooked.
No way, no how do 59 percent of the people approve of gay marriage.
Fine by met. Let’s get it over with. The ballot box is a fraud at this point anyway.
Should read “Asspress propagandists agitate with the usual lies.”
I’d never vote for them again.
At what point did paper ballots become to difficult for voters to fill out?
Major cities are all going electronic. Trust the Government? Like hell!
Expect some GERIATRICS to come out and lecture us. Maybe starting with Bob Dole.
Note how this NEVER seems to happen with the Democrats...but it probably does, but since they own the media, it’s chalked up as “old age” and never reported.
They do, but not as graphically.
The arrogance of the Republican elites was epitomized by that guy Krick from Marin County who blithely declared that “no one knows where they stand on an issue until we tell them.” If that kind of thinking is representative of most Pubbie so-called movers and shakers, then I’m out of the party. Nobody tells me how to vote on a particular issue.
Same pollster who says 10% of Americans are homosexual.
it's all, perfectly natural, just as long as there is 'love' and 'caring', all should be embraced. literally
i'll be in the corner... projectile vomiting
I hope they fail, to paraphrase a great thinker.
