Actually the MSM does say Democrat simply by not mentioning it. They think that if they don’t mention party other than (R) then the unwashed masses won’t know.

Does it matter what party he is? Especially given that its just some small town no one ever heard of. And if he’s a Dem, plenty of Republicans get caught with their fingers in the cookie jar (or other parts in places they shouldn’t be, as per the Louisiana Congressman who just got busted.)

Crimes among politicians is a bipartisan thing.

The Trib leaves out some information.

The Chicago Tribune of old used to be a Conservative, pro-American paper. Colonel Robert R. McCormick, an outstanding horseman who valiantly served his country with General Pershing, would be appalled what's become of his once-great newspaper now that the leftists have taken it over.

Is the American flag still on their masthead or have the liberals removed that now?

Isn’t this the county that had so much trouble giving the primary vote tally until the wee hours of the morning, then suddenly had just enough votes to put Obama over the top in Indiana?

Lake Station, aka, East Gary, is located in Lake County where urban legend has it there was once a registered Republican.

Mayor Soderquist, 44, and his wife, Deborah, are accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a campaign finance account and taking money from the Lake Station Food Pantry, which is funded by state tax dollars.

A federal grand jury indicted the Soderquists on Wednesday. According to the indictments, they lost more than $100,000 at Indiana and Michigan casinos between the spring of 2010 and December 2012, after allegedly taking the cash.

Federal agents searched Lake Station City Hall looking for evidence last fall. Defense attorney Scott King said the mayor and his wife, who is also his adminitrative assistant, have been cooperating with federal agents for more than a year.

Miranda Brakley, the mayor’s step-daughter, was charged in a separate indictment with allegedly filing false bankruptcy papers and stealing bond money while working at the city courthouse.

Virtually every thinking member of the public is now very aware when this is not mentioned, it most certainly involves a Democrat. This is similar to other types of crime, when certain facts very useful in locating the perpetrators are not mentioned.

Of course, there are a lot of “non-thinking” members of the public...

Trib writer Andy Grimm: Chief, we've got another Democrat with his fingers in the till.

Editor: OK, write it up but don't say which party he belongs to.

Andy Grimm: Will do, chief, pretty clever of you.

Editor: Yeah, the rubes will never figure out it's a democrat; good thing we're smarter than our readers!

Not certain of Indiana but most local elections techically are non partisan, even the election for Chicago Mayor. The last mayoral election which was partisan in Chicago was in 1980 I believe.
