TRES RIOS, Costa Rica (AP) On a warm spring day, Floribeth Mora was in her bed waiting to die from a seemingly inoperable brain aneurysm when her gaze fell upon a photograph of Pope John Paul II in a newspaper.
"Stand up," Mora recalls the image of the pope saying to her. "Don't be afraid."
Mora, her doctors and the Catholic Church say her aneurysm disappeared that day in a miracle that cleared the way for the late pope to be declared a saint on April 27 in a ceremony at the Vatican where Mora will be a guest of honor.

“So then where is she??? Why is she not on EWTN???”
See the youtube link I posted above. Pay attention.
“Can you imagine the number of people she could draw to the Catholic religion if there was any truth to the story???”
Again, see above. Her story is well documented. I’ve seen her on television - NBC - back in the early 1980s.
“I’d say if it was true, this woman would have her face plastered all over the tv and internet...”
Again, see the above link.
Or you could have simply paid attention here at FR:

Every time I hear the litany of the saints it give me chills. One of our church’s most beautiful prayers.
Supposedly the Vatican does a careful study and an irrefutable miracle is what it takes to end up being declared a saint.
Peter was Peter, but in this age of modernity, much is required to provide proof.
I wonder if there should be a study if whether or not the miracle is from a diabolical source.
To be there should be a study over whether or not the ‘miracle’ was of diabolical origin.
Second, there should be a ‘devil’s advocate’ who will point out the reasons that he (JPII) should not be declared a saint.
“False. The miracle is only attributed to the intercession of the saint called upon to intercede. Thats all based on what is known.”
We agree it is attributed, but there is no proof the saint heard them or interceded. It is a vote. An opinion.
Ping me when the pope’s shadow starts healing everyone it falls on, or when he multiplies loaves and fishes, or parts the sea, or turns water into (good!) wine, or stops the sun...
“Peter was Peter, but in this age of modernity, much is required to provide proof.”
In the NT, everyone saw what happened. These attributed miracles are an opinion.
“We agree it is attributed, but there is no proof the saint heard them or interceded. It is a vote. An opinion.”
No. God used the saint. There is no mere opinion. The negative protection of the Holy Spirit is involved.
“Ping me when the popes shadow starts healing everyone it falls on, or when he multiplies loaves and fishes, or parts the sea, or turns water into (good!) wine, or stops the sun...”
That’s already happened. Peter (the first pope) healed with his shadow. No loves were multiplied even by Christ. Read the text closely and you’ll see that everyone was fed from the same loaves and fishes. They were not multiplied. They simply were not used up. Maybe you should read about the miracle of the sun at Fatima while you’re at it.
I also suggest this amazing little book:
“No. God used the saint. There is no mere opinion. The negative protection of the Holy Spirit is involved.”
It is an opinion that the saint was used. No one knows if the saint heard, did anything, or if God chose a different path. All is assumed by a voting committee.
Peter was used to perform miracles. Obviously we disagree that he was the first pope. Today? None of what I listed.
If I claimed that, you wouldn't have to ask a question...Pay attention...
I agree. The communion of saints is very important to me.
Are you claiming Peter is in Hell?
“Today? None of what I listed.”
Miracles still happen.
He is risen!
Happy Easter to you.
“believers”
This is conveyed in how you live your life, NOT in repeating a sentence from Scripture.
Merely affirming a “belief” and then living your life contrary to what that entails, is no “belief” at all.
To me, a Protestant, Pope John Paul II, earned his sainthood during his life time in what he did for humanity and in freeing the Soviet Union and Communist controlled eastern Europe from atheist dominion.
Exactly.
I agree; he openly performed masses in front of Communist officials while in Poland and to me, that took courage beyond human ordinariness.
