Air Force Captain Nicolas Aquino was tackled and handcuffed in his own home after police received a call from a neighbor of a suspected burglary. Aquino told the officer that he was the homeowner and even showed identification when the officer first approached him; the policeman finally left after Aquino showed him bills with his name and address.
However, that wasnt the end of it. Months later, Aquino learned that the police station had issued a warrant for him, claiming that he resisted arrest and obstructed an officer.
Aquino, a model airman who has been featured in Air Force promotional material, maintains that he committed no crime, but the District Attorney has refused to drop the charges. Now, his education and career are in jeopardy as he fights against the arrest.

Does this mean that a grand jury actually reviewed this case and signed off on the proposed charges? Sadly, a lot of grand juries these days don’t seem to actually do their job - they’ll just rubber-stamp whatever nonsense is put in front of them.

If Aquino had been a senior member of CAIR, the prosecutors would be crawling over each other to drop the charges.

Sadly, a lot of grand juries these days dont seem to actually do their job - theyll just rubber-stamp whatever nonsense is put in front of them. Introduce them to the idea of presentment and the notion that they can [and should] tackle official corruption and see how long the DAs rely on just rubber-stamping.

Then why wasn't he taken in or cited at the scene? Shoddy police work at best. What's next, LEOs arresting people by using Facebook posts?

Great. They destroy his career and life based on a mistaken report by a neighbor. Don’t make the police look bad or they’ll get you.

I regret saying this, but I have come to expect brutal stupidity from cops these days. I do expect DAs to be, if no less callous, a bit smarter than this.
This is the DA. He ran unopposed.

He’s obviously NOT a member of a specially-privileged minority, or the cop would have been fired, and the ‘justice’ department would have him in custody.
“Equal protection under the law” is a joke.
