Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush discussing immigration reform on Fox News this Sunday:
"I'm going to say this and it will be on tape, and so be it. The way I look at this is someone who comes to our country because they couldn't come legally, they come to our country because their family's dad who loves their children was worried that their children didn't have food on the table, and they wanted to make sure their family was intact. And they crossed the border because they had no other means to work to be able to provide for their family. Yes, they broke the law, but it's not a felony. it's kind of -- it's a -- it's an act of love. It's an act of commitment to your family. I honestly think that's a different kind of crime that should be, there should be a price paid, but it shouldn't be -- it shouldn't rile people up that people are actually coming to this country to provide for their families. And the idea that we're not going to fix this but with with comprehensive reform ends up trapping these people, when they could make a great contribution for their own their families but also for us.
So I think we need to get beyond the harsh political rhetoric to a better place. The great number of people who come to this country come because they have no opportunities in other places. They may love their country, but they come here because they want to provide for their families. And they can make a contribution to our country if we actually organized ourselves in a better way."

I will NEVER cast a vote for this traitor.
Oh brother..obviously employers have wanted these workers for cheap labor..daaa. I am not saying it is right nor justifying them breaking the law and I said in my very first post that the concern needs to be for the US citizens first! I am just pointing out that many them are not the villains you and others want to believe they are.
Why doesn’t Jeb demonstrate his Act of Love (ew) on the border of China, or North Korea? Saudi Arabia? Yemen?
Go back and look at what you posted.
A person cannot be "honest" and a lawbreaker at the same time.
Please officer I held up that 7-11 for LOVE. yah yah that’s the ticket. Jeb please do us all a big service and go to Mexico and don’t come back. The plus is you will get your drugs and drug money a lot faster.
Yo, J.E.B., you think terrorists coming into this country through Mexico are also doing so out of love?
Of course they are! Love of jihad! Come on!
I've said it before, if the Bush women weren't so lazy we wouldn't have this absurd problem with open borders!!
But Saint Bar couldn't be bothered to take care of her own children, so she farmed out her family to illegal aliens. Ever wonder why GW speaks better Spanish than English?
And then Laura couldn't clean up after her own dog, so she brought illegals to the WH to pick up Scottie's poop. Now the twins smirk and prink on TV. Cannot stand them.
A good way to keep the Bush women away is to keep the Bush men out of office.
What a stupid comment.
Um. That was the owner of Free Republic you just called stupid....
A serious question to those of you who still think the GOP can be recovered and used to good purpose, as opposed to scuttled as useless and beyond repair.
If this guy is your candidate, will you STILL stay on board the GOP?
I don’t think a lot of the GOP-E understands that a lot of us will NOT vote for another democrat wearing a GOP label! They really believe the route to victory lies in rejecting the base! I’m so sick of the Romneys and McCains, I could puke on each of them - and whoever is determined to follow in their footsteps. I voted against McCain on his last senatorial run, and will do so again if he runs again.
In 1999 Columba Bush entered the U.S. from Paris without claiming the $19,000 worth of jewelry and clothes she had bought while in Paris.
She had two opportunities to claim the goods and never did.
There is an excellent graphic at this website showing exactly where in Mexico these American auto manufacturer plants are located.
Where are Mexico's vehicle assembly plants located?
There are more than 25 vehicle assembly plants in Mexico, manufacturing many brands of cars and trucks (see map). In addition, there are 1100 firms specializing in making parts for vehicles. .......
Car-makers building new assembly plants in Mexico
Mazda is building a new 500-million-dollar plant in Salamanca (Guanajuato) to assemble its best-selling Mazda2 and Mazda3 models. The Mazda3 is the Mazdas top selling model in the USA. The Mazda plant, scheduled to open in 2013, will employ about 3,000 workers and produce 140,000 vehicles a year.
Honda, which currently has two manufacturing plants in El Salto (Jalisco), is to construct a third plant, in Celaya (Guanajuato). The new plant will produce the fuel-efficient Honda Fit for the North American market. Due to open in 2014, it represents an investment of 800 million dollars and will have the capacity to assemble 200,000 vehicles a year.
No trying to sneak about $19 grand in foreign purchases through customs without paying the duty.
So, basically Mrs. Jeb was caught “bringing in a little extra love”?
Id like to see him as President of Mexico.
He may even be a citizen through marriage.
It is supposed to inspire Christian charity-or something like that?
Well, they have put to the streets an awful lot of African American Christian men who can’t get jobs.
Jeb speaks correctly of the motivations of many to come to America, and he speaks correctly that some of them can be good for our country.
But that’s not the whole story. I’m left wondering what he has to say about the rest of the story. I’m afraid I can’t trust him after what he said.
Folks this says it all! A Jeb Bush presidency would do the country as much harm as the commie in the Whitey House is now doing.
LOL!! Yeh it was an act of love. :-)
Mexico is not so poor. It is the 13th richest nation. They need better wealth distribution there instead of invading America.

In a merit based, open opportunity culture Mexicans should be the wealthiest people on earth per capita. Their series of peonage based governments impoverishes the people, from pre-Columbian times until today.
