(AGI) Kiev, April 5 - Ukraine has declared that they will not pay the price of almost 500 dollars per cubic metre for Russian gas, announced recently by the Russian gas consortium Gazprom.
Kiev has also accused Moscow of conducting 'economic' aggression'. "Political presure will prove useless, we are not accepting the price of 500 dollars", Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenuk said during a cabinet meeting.
He added: "Russia has not succeeded in conquering Ukraine with military aggression, so now they are opting for an economic aggression."

No soup gas or you. Come back two weeks!
When did you become a mod?
Search through my posts on FR. I have never said one thing in support of Putin. I am just sick of seeing you act like a foot-stomping child.
I wonder how much coal can they use? We have bunch of it and having been shipping a lot thru the port of Norfolk to China. I am sure one of these ships can be moved over to another run. Also, Odessa has a has a gas port, so we could ship gas there. Lots of options, just a lack of willpower to use them.
I seem to recall that post! Yep, the Euroweenies are going to pay a heavy, heavy price next winter.
Does anyone know the typical price of a cubic meter of gas in the US or in the EU?
Well. I probably should not call you a child, but it does get old. We all detest commies - too bad our own country is run by commies as well. I think we need an internal fight (i.e. Civil War II).
It's easy for their politicians to say. The hoi polloi might still miss their hot meals and hot water. (At least they won't freeze to death!)
Ukraine can just raise the price of wheat for Russia. This will get wicked as the year goes. The Ukraine is the bread basket for Russia. So it will be annexed soon anyway.
Well, the image that you posted from the Moscow Times seems to imply that Georgia, America and Big Oil are controlled by Jews who have some sort of agenda against Russia.
You know, with the Star of David in Georgia’s name and Israel’s flag on American warplanes with corporate logos.
Reminds me of the barely veiled anti-Semitism by people who think Jews control the world.

Never happen. Bork Obunga has declared war on coal...
So the US would essentially barrow from China to pay Russia???
“Who run Bartertown?”
raising the price by $100 to $485 for every 1,000 cubic meters of gas
1,000 cubic meters is 35,315 cubic feet, or 35mcf and about the same MMBTUs. Therefore, Russia is increasing the price from $2.80/mcf to $13.70/mcf. The average European import price is $11.00/mcf, varying widely by location. The U.S. Henry Hub spot market is $4.50/mcf, but liquifaction, shipping to Europe and regasification will cost $3.50/mcf and that isn't even permitted by Obama.
So Putin's new price is close to, if not "spot on" the market.
Neither the U.S. nor the Ukraine, has reason to complain.
“This sounds so laughable. I think it’s the world’s first case when someone has ‘pirated’ a navy. Usually, they pirate merachant ships, while navies are expected to defend themselves, you know.”
Actually, there is nothing funny about it at all. The Ukrainian naval bases and ships were blockaded, besieged, and seized by Russian marines, Russian soldiers, and Russian rioters, all of whom were acting in violation of the laws of war by failing to be lawful combatants in distinctive uniforms as required by the Hague Convention. By doing so, they were in fact acting as pirates under Russian command. Such acts of piracy under Russian command qualifies this event as an act of state terrorismand subversion by Russia.
Cowboy Bob was pulling your leg. It came right off in his hand I think.
Are we shipping much LNG currently? Just curious.
Even so, it has been said that Hackers have been stating the media demand was to project an anti-Russia campaign. Also there was an article in one of our leading news organizations where they also stated Russia is consistently made out to be the bad guy in all it does. For me, I know who Putin is and what he's attempted to accomplish in Russia, as well the forces against him. He plays in a very violent neighborhood all around, within and without, and he certainly isn't slack in making moves of his own which are seen as unfavorable to the rest of the world. But I figure they don't live in his neighborhood.
I remember how Bush was called a "Cowboy" and the liberal media tore into him for the vocabulary he used after 9/11. I was livid about that because it shouldn't have mattered what the liberals thought...rather did Osama and Alqueda understand Bush....and clearly they knew exactly what Bush was saying and meant.
I think this also applies to Putin more often than not. He's a hoodish guy living in a hoodish neighborhood attempting to bring Russia away from it's Communistic past, while still maintaining it's national identity, and at the same time introducing certain freedoms he believes are beneficial to the Russian people..and these will not be according to what our freedoms might be...the culture has only been recovering for 15 years since it's collapse, to introduce too quickly would mean chaos....IMO Putin's brought it further than any other has in the past...and obvious the majority of the people support him on the whole.
As for those who think Jewish people control the world...well they're going to think that anyway and regardless of any facts contrary,...and regardless of anything Israel may do or doesn't do. Just like there isn't anything at all that Obama can do that will make me loathe him any less for what he's done to this country ........We all have those we detest and feel justified in doing so....but of course concerning Obama and this administration... I'm right.
“Russia owes Ukraine compensation for Crimea and for pirating the entire Ukrainian Navy. They are no position to the claim moral high ground.”
BS...
