HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, MI -- A woman who signed an apartment lease with her boyfriend and allegedly agreed to be liable for any smoke or water damage, faces a $2 million lawsuit after he attempted to cook a squirrel and started a massive fire with a torch.
...
Khek Chanthalavong told investigators the blaze started after he had been using a torch on the deck of a unit he shared with Barbara Pellow, to burn the fur off a squirrel he'd captured. Once the fur was removed, he placed the torch in the corner of their deck, next to a plastic plant holder. He then went inside to cook the rodent.
Pellow awoke to Chanthalavong yelling and throwing water on flames that were quickly growing on the deck. The fire spread and caused major damage to 32 units in the couple's building. Pellow told police she had no knowledge of the torch being used.

Squirrel without a ping.
I used to hunt squirrels in the tall oak trees next to the corn fields. Some of those buggers were TOUGH!
Had one, my brother shot it, it fell about 80 feet out of the tree and climbed back up. Shot it again, fell about 30 feet, it was still trying to climb up the tree.
Finally got it to stay on the ground but it was trying to chew through my brothers boot.
In the days of old, when Knights were bold, ladies were taken to the tournaments. They excitedly dressed in their finest finery to see and to be seen. It was my honor to escort the lady Geneva, the sister of the duke to the event.
She was not too well versed on just exactly what was transpiring but was eager to choose a champion and to wager the 50 florins in her purse. I carefully explained the jousting course and how the knights rode towards each other, lances lowered to unhorse their opponent.
We reviewed the warriors. There was Sir Geffery Dilandsworth wearing the gleaming armor and carrying the shield with the distinctive blue and white checkered shield. There was Sir Albert Truan in the black armor and a green pennant of Vaud rippling from his lance, there was Sir Gilbane De Valier, lord of St Gelbert manor on the huge gray charger and there was Sir Zagnoc Miclicokye Earl of the Chech barony in the wonderful red chain mail mantle over his shoulders Aegis like.
After the first round, half were eliminated and so it went till there were only 6 left. My lady, a thrifty sort still had her florins and was deciding how best to wager. She cried out to Sir Albert and waved her lace kerchief and then pointed to the bold knight and swooned Is that Sir Zagnoc with the pretty shield?
Of course not I responded How many times must I tell you, The chechs in the mail
ROTFL
Heh, heh, the other white meat.
Good Lord, what a sadistic moron.
Good one
Modern English has yet to develop an appropriate term for a shack-up. Boyfriend and girlfriend are the best it can do.
Live squirrel or dead?
If it was live he is one sick puppy.
If it was dead he was just a careless dumb bunny.
Squirrels should be skinned, not singed. Must have been his first attempt at eating rodent.
“Chicken fired” squirrels are awesome.
Fool didn’t learn from the Huckster: you cook squirrel in a popcorn popper.
I am with you on this one. It does give me a lead to perhaps digress. I do find that the right and proper way to kill animals is to make it quick and painless.
My daughter bought an old house that had been closed up for two years. The local squirrels had taken over and infested the attic. They tore out the new insulation. She was distressed at the rat traps needed to clear them. I went over to Sault Ste Michigan to the Ace Hardware and got a sort of powder which simulated the urine of a fox. Bye bye squirrels.
I know this is a bit of a ramble, but it still pains me to view unnecessary cruelty to animals. Anyway, I have seen this curious word on FR. Tiz Karma. This joker got it in spades.
