Paul Deen and her ridiculously pathetic brother Bubba Hier shuttered Uncle Bubbas Seafood and Oyster House and included in employees severance checks, which were collected in the parking lot, was a message, Thank you for 10 great years. Uncle Bubbas is now closed.
So far so good, except employees that stood in the parking lot of the business that was the center of Deens racism scandal in 2013, were unaware the business was closing until they were greeted with that message of gratitude for their dedicated work.

Deen Shrugged.
If the employees don’t like the law, they should get it changed.
If they are a little snooty, they can apply at the Pirrates House or Johnny Harris’s and get a good job
"Ouch, my knee"
"You're being hostile toward me"
The top three statements heard moments after informing employees they are facing a closure or layoff.
So some waitresses and cooks were fired? So what. Happens all the time.
Seems to me that loony leftists are just looking for something to beat up Deen on. Every time she sneezes, another negative hit piece will be written about her. They've crippled her successful business ventures. They won't be happy till she is completely destroyed.
This is how I’ve always seen it done...food places never give employees notice.
Kinda makes me skeptical of what I might be eating, if the owner doesn’t trust the employees.
Maybe! Unfortunately, I only know union waiters. One who once ate off a patron’s plate in front of said patron and one who...er...dropped his drawers to show his distain for the owners. Try firing these guys. You end up with the union rat outside your premises.
OK, let’s forget that company meeting.
Bammy’s Fault.
I’ve been fired by companies that shut their doors before. I only wish they would have sent a text message telling me so I didn’t have to get up early and waste the gas driving to the shop.
Jesse Jackson declares his support for Paula Deen
Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. attacked after tweeting that Paula Deen should not be destroyed
Makes sense, you sure wouldn't want to risk a lame duck employee doing any to the food or scaring off customers. It's the same in IT with programmers, a lame duck programmer can do a lot of damage in a small amount of time...that's why they remove all of their system access even before breaking the news to them.
What are you talking about? She was every bit the lefty elitist who treated everyone else like dirt. Jesse Jackson was her biggest defender.
I’ve got friends that have been in many restaurants when they closed, almost all of them found out the day it happened. It’s how the industry works.
Its not just IT programmers...
Whenever anyone at my company is fired, there is an appointed time to summon the employee to the boss’s office...and as he walks to the office, an IT guy remotely disables his password.
Its always the same IT guy...so you get awful nervous if you see him talking to your boss or hanging around your department too much.
Why are you falling for left wing spin? The left started this myth that she was racist 35 years ago. She was treating people poorly, including black people who weren’t allowed to use the employee bathroom right up until the time she got caught. The woman who sued her is actually white, not black. She’s good friends with Michelle Obama, and Jesse Jackson was her biggest defender of her during her crisis.
That's not how a lady, or a gentleman, closes a business.
I don't understand all the sympathy for Jimmy Carter's best friend.
Nope. Bubba held a piece of the action solely because big sister Paula gave it to him. Paula Deen also was an owner (through of her corporate entities).
I didn't think owners ever gave notice when shutting a restaurant. They don't carry enough liability insurance for what can happen as the result of food served by and entire staff of disgruntled cooks and servers.

If you’ve watched enough “restaurant disaster maybe’s”, as I have, this picture could be going on all over the country.
However, it is Paula Deen and her brother, not “Zim’s Zuper-Dog of Taunton, MA, located on the old highway, that led towards Cape Cod”.
They spoke the words that needed to be spoken. They included severance checks, which are not usually part of the deal.
There is nothing left to be said.
