Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Robert Papp said that in 2010 Obama told U.S. military leaders to accept his push for gays in the military, and that if they didn't, they could take the "opportunity to resign [their] commissions."
Papp said these things in a video BuzzFeed obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request.
The video shows a speech Papp delivered to Coast Guard Academy cadets during which he was asked how he would deal with enforcing an order with which he didn't agree. He used the story of his 2010 meeting with Obama as an example of how service members' duties can be compelling and conflicting with personal desires....

Did the Admiral leave?
If he didn’t he’s part of the problem
Plus 100
You suspect something? Perhaps your hat is too tight.
You are the one that wants to turn the military over to pro-gay activists.
You are a surrender monkey.
Sure its best for there NOT to be gay officers or gay enlisted. Absolutely, 100% the best solution.
I know nothing about these Admirals but have to assume they are fairly competent to have reached that level. If they resigned over something like this they would be REPLACED by a pro-gay officer. Someone who probably WILL support bam bams other agenda items.
Meanwhile their subordinates cannot resign.
This no different than what teachers in NYC and other cities are being faced with. Veteran teachers who know what works and what doesn’t are being confronted with the same choice. Throw away the many years you dedicated to teaching kids and resign or retire—sacrificing pension dollars you are desperately going to need in the land of ever-rising prices—or teach Commie Core and all the other stuff you KNOW is wrong.
And because their Admirals and Generals refuse to lead, if only us, those soldiers are now being molested with the approval of the CIC. They failed their soldiers.
Now it stands to reason that an en-masse resignation would make serious waves amongst those of us that care about our military, civ and ex-mil alike and start ‘holding feet to fire’ that so many promise to do but so few ever even try doing with their elected reps.
Leadership comes from the top. Leaders lead in the face of adversity. That’s not naive. It’s world history.
As a junior officer I tried to resign three times (all denied) because my XO and CO were mis treating the men in my division over my head. I would certainly resign over this. You can keep your queer military.
Obviously the Admiral did not object to the policy, because he is still an Admiral. The only way this story makes sense is if the headline starts with “Former Admiral...”
You are the one wanting to turn over the military to the pro-gays. You want to surrender to the enemy.
Thats telling.
You keep posting about this, are you planning a “mancation” to San Fransicko soon?
You just don’t understaaAAAaaannndddd!!!!
Poll tested focus groups show that 4 out of 5 military brass recommend going along to get along rather than stand for their beliefs.
And that’s what matters. Because it makes liberals and psuedocons ‘feel good’ about themselves.
Its a fact that people who talk like you do are repressing homosexual tendencies.
There was another choice that still exists....... remove Obama
Oh but surrendering to the enemy is so much more effective at winning the war. /s
I was thinking the same thing.
What a shock ... the creature that told America that it was going to totally transform her ... what did the lemmings think he meant. If you like your plan you can keep your plavgn ... if you like your America you can keep youri America! I am way past hating Obongo ... my deep deep hatred is for the idiots that voted for the creature ... it took only good instints and a little research in 2004 to see what was coming ...we had four years to prepare for a campaign anyone with eyes and ears knew was coming! And then four additional years to ensure its defeat ... I find it hard to look at my ‘fellow’ Americans anymore ... I find myself thinking are you a traitor ... did you sell out your country ... I may have to go elsewhere!
Sound familiar, Comrade? Now eat your peas, the line for toilet paper forms over there...
What? Don’t you have any more schoolyard infantile insults? Are you trying to think up some witty response but are distracted by the thoughts of some guy in uniform?
So what military doctrine covers surrender as a winning strategy?
