Air Force removes Bible from POW-MIA display
Fox News ^ | March 31, 2014 | Todd Starnes

On March 14 Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh told members of the House Armed Services committee that there was no war on religious liberty.

“The single biggest frustration I’ve had in this job is the perception that somehow there is religious persecution inside the United States Air Force,” the general told lawmakers. “It is not true.”

Rep. John Fleming (R-La.) told me the Air Force seems to be the worst offender when it comes to attacks on religious liberty.

If that’s true, perhaps Gen. Welsh could explain why a Bible was removed from a POW/MIA Missing Man Table at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida. The removal of the Good Book was first reported by the Gannett-owned newspaper Florida Today.

[...]

Ron Crews, the executive director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty, told me he hopes the Air Force will restore the Bible to its rightful place. He called it a symbol of hope and courage for military personnel and their families.

“It is sad when military traditions honoring our POWs and MIAs are trumped by pursuits to remove any vestige of the faith that has sustained our warriors since Valley Forge,” Crews told me.

Instead of growing a pair of balls and telling those complaining, whiny, sniveling pieces of excrement to shut the hell up and to get out of their face before they beat the living crap out of them for even bringing it up, these beaten down, politically correct commissars of the new and improved diverse and inclusive US military grovel at the feet of any who might endanger their career.

Absolutely sickening...stick your “inclusiveness” you damned brainwashed politically correct idiots!

There are many like him in the services...I have to deal with an USAF Academy grad who is a retired F16 pilot and part time Scout leader. He spares no effort in tearing down the faith of others around him. He’s especially enjoying this kerfuffle about the queers and homos in the BSA...any adult who uses a Biblical approach to their objections over the new policy are his favorite targets.

When he was the Scoutmaster of our Troop, he was almost singularly responsible for a young Eagle Scout candidate failing his Eagle BoR because he was so confused about his own faith he couldn’t discuss “Reverence” after this guy had “talked” with him...

Then they will be forced to admit that this nation is predominantly of a Christian background.

But... but... what about TRIPOLI???

SURELY it trumps...

When he was the Scoutmaster of our Troop...

Was that during the time you were Mormon?

Welsh is terrified of being sued by Mickey Weinstein .
Micky Weinstein needs to have a close encounter with a fast moving bus .

No, this is after I had stopped trying to help the mormon troops get their programs in line and joined a “conventional” Troop, after I quit the LDS.

Many of the LDS guys were just inept or ambivalent...

You my not know it, but my unit is unconventional. We've been self-chartered for the last 43 years of our 80+ year history.

The parents of many of our Scouts are professionals employed by a major private university/research hospital or federal research facility.

As a result, during my tenure with the unit, we've had Scouts and Scout Leaders from at least eight religions, if you count all Protestants as one religion, and exclude Theists as a religion.

We've had several excellent Latter-Day Saints Scout Leaders and Scouts, although we are not a LDS unit.

Thanks for the ping. I left a comment on the Florida Today article. My dad was stationed at PAFB. Absolutely disgusting.

I have worked with a few LDS Scouters who “got it”...unfortunately, they are an exception, not the rule in this area.

Our unit is chartered by a “private organization” on an AF base...we have folks from various backgrounds like you...but most are affiliated with either the USAF, or various aerospace companies/entities that are located here.

So, I guess you could say we’re “unconventional” in a way as well.

At this point, we're way over here, and the topic is way over there.

Virtually everything (if not everything) the Obama administration has done with respect to our military has; (a) sacrificed the proven, common-sense needs, goals, purpose, and standards of the military on the altar of political correctness; (b) taken away the freedom of religious speech and expression of Christian servicemen and women; and/or (c) turned the military into a testing ground to test 'progressive' policies at the expense of the personal safety of servicemen and women and the safety of the United States.

Patrick is commanded by a female general, one star.

This is the second incident of this type. The first was an article in the base paper during Christmas. All copies of the paper was confiscated and destroyed.

[AF press release, your quote] Unfortunately, the Bible's presence or absence on the table at the Riverside Dining Facility ignited controversy and division ....

Translation: An atheist activist or Marxist ideologue went into someone's office and complained and cited PC. The USAF quickly consulted their Obama zampoliti on staff and pulled the Bible as non-PC.

They have been removing bibles from public displays a few years now. I’m sure if it was a rainbow flag there would have been no news or uproar.
