On March 14 Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh told members of the House Armed Services committee that there was no war on religious liberty.
The single biggest frustration Ive had in this job is the perception that somehow there is religious persecution inside the United States Air Force, the general told lawmakers. It is not true.
Rep. John Fleming (R-La.) told me the Air Force seems to be the worst offender when it comes to attacks on religious liberty.
If thats true, perhaps Gen. Welsh could explain why a Bible was removed from a POW/MIA Missing Man Table at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida. The removal of the Good Book was first reported by the Gannett-owned newspaper Florida Today.

Ron Crews, the executive director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty, told me he hopes the Air Force will restore the Bible to its rightful place. He called it a symbol of hope and courage for military personnel and their families.
It is sad when military traditions honoring our POWs and MIAs are trumped by pursuits to remove any vestige of the faith that has sustained our warriors since Valley Forge, Crews told me.

Wonder if Mikey Weinstein had anything to do with it.
it’s getting to a point where I wouldn’t defend this country, as it’s no linger my country or one I even like
I’m already ok with anyone flushing San francesspool and detroit.
I’m just getting more disgusted by the day
It is obvious that our foot soldiers have balls, while our generals do not.
‘Twould be interesting if it is one of our female generals who gives the Obamadork the finger.
I really think that sooner or later, it will be our military standing between us and our gubmit.
And which way they point their guns will determine their honor.
Blessings
Gays and Leftists do not practice tolerance, they simply wasn’t others to surrender. Same with Islam.
Drag shows are fine though
GGRRRRRRRRR!!!
I just emailed the Air Force and asked for a name of who made the decision. I won’t hold my breath waiting for a response.

It is obvious that their careers are more important than their country.
I am sickened by what is happening to America under Obama. We can no longer trust our military.
And the hits keep on coming. Dollars to donuts this comes all the way from the top.
The explanation was weak, unfaithful to a basic belief rooted in a majority of those that serve this country and that honor those that have fallen or suffered in that service...
If this is what the Air Force “leadership” is reduced to, then I hope that their recruiting quotas and their retention levels suffer a tremendous hit...
They deserve what is coming...
And if those who have served in this branch of service are somewhat insulted by my opinion, it was not meant to be personal or disrespectful of those affiliations...
There is a point where you have to draw a (the) line regardless...
Just my opinion...
its the pensions....its the pensions....when all is said and done, these pansies just want to get their big fat pensions....and that my friends trumps all patriotism, all morality, all spirituality, all common sense...
many feel the same as you.....
To remove the Bible from the display not only cuts the guts out of what went on in the prison camps but is an abomination and an offense not only to the men who believed and survived the awful ordeal but to God Himself.
Whoever did this should be ashamed, and the 45th Space Wing should be mortified they caved in to this wickedness.
"Controversy" my a$$! It is an open attack on God and those men who believe in Him. Those who meekly go along with it are as guilty as those who conceived the idea.
Who do you think can take away their retirement pay? It certainly cannot be taken away by administrative fiat. Whether they quit, are fired, required to retire, it doesn’t matter. Their years of honorable service will be computed and they will begin drawing the retirement pay appropriate for their rank. For most General Officers that means a pay raise since most of them are currently administratively prohibited from drawing their full pay and allowances.
If they are a three or four star, the Service Secretary or the Secretary of Defense could direct that they be retired in a lower grade like Major General, but this would have to be done through due process. They could be denied retirement pay only through the action of a Court Martial.
Their money is not at risk, but their egos are.
His only concerns are his promotion and his pension. Another politically correct butt kisser.
I’ve got a 20’x12’x6’ pile of trees and branches...I’ve a mind to toss my Dress Blues on the pyre shortly after ignition.
I am certain that if the AF did a due diligence search of American POWs from WW2 forward to Afghanistan they would find very few, if any, non-Christian POWs.
If so, then there is absolutely no reason to kiss the @$$ of any person or group who complains about the Bible in the display.
Go ahead and ask the remaining survivors of the Hanoi Hilton and other NVA POW camps about the importance of faith in that environment.
One more minor thought - those who want the Bible removed need to go back to Fairchild for a couple of weeks in the compound. Of all my graduation certificates I ever got that is the one I guard the most, January 1972 is the date.
