Whose Side are you On? If you don’t care whether Republicans win, care that Democrats lose.

March 29, 2014 4:00 AM Which Side Are You On? If you don’t care whether Republicans win, care that Democrats lose.

By Kevin D. Williamson

For conservatives, the story of the Obama years has been the depressing spectacle of Republicans fighting a rearguard action covering their retreat from a Democratic agenda backed by superior numbers. Republicans began the Obama administration with effectively no leverage: Barack Obama in the White House, Nancy Pelosi in the speaker’s chair, and Harry Reid running the Senate. The outcome of that was the enactment of the Affordable Care Act, the worst domestic defeat for the cause of limited government in a generation. The 2010 congressional elections gave Republicans some relief... .

In January 2017, unprecedented, arbitrary, near dictatorial powers await the next White House occupant.

I’m with you. I don’t agree with your decision, but sometimes I wonder if some think maybe we should just let the voters have what they asked for and see how they like it.

Given that the gop and rats are just two factions in the same uniparty, why would I care which one wins?

Sorry. The old red flag blue flag thing isn’t going to rally the troops this time.

Get conservative candidates I can support and I’ll be happy to vote for them. Send out the same bunch of corporatist nancy boys and I’ll be otherwise occupied. It’s really that simple.

I voted for Romney as we’ll based on the same logic. In retrospect I should have stayed home. While of course there is no such thing as a perfect candidate that doesn’t mean that you should settle for abject mediocrity. I can think of several candidates I’d happily show up to vote for. Palin, Cruz, Paul, Walker... Pick any one and I’ll show.

If the gop wants to foist another of its corporatist nancy boys on us, it has every right to do so. And I have every right to find something else to do with my time rather than vote.

that may be your desire but alas it is not to be.

In the American system, we have two parties. All factions must join one of the two or just wither and die.

That means a choice must be made. Which party accepts most of your beliefs and political desires. That is where you must vote. There is a primary to narrow the field. Which of the candidates in the primary mots accurately effects your your thoughts? That is the candidate for whom you must vote.

What if he loses? The winner bcomes your candidate.

To turn your back on the winner is to refuse your duty to vote. Voting requires some times difficult decisions. Obama or Romney? To not make the decision and not to vote is a cop out, a turning on America.

I’m all for us ending the pretending...particularly that we have much if any voice in which candidates the uniparty elite will allow us to choose from. I really don’t think we’ll have much of a choice this next time, any more so than we did last time. But who knows?

I offer a simple bargain: provide a conservative candidate that I can vote for and I’ll show. Provide more of the same and I’ll find something else to do with my time.

You will have something else to do with your time, it will consist of figuring out what else you can live without as you pretend you had nothing to do with another election victory year for the Demagogic Party.

After reading this entire thread I see that the same people are still waiting for perfection. WILL NOT HAPPEN !

Get a grip folks and vote the Democrats out!

We can take care of the Republicans AFTER we get the Senate and the WH.

Bonehead isd a drunken jerk, a spineless poltroon, a wholly owned subsidiary of lobbyists and of the most corrupt elements ever to graft themselves onto the GOP as the parasites that they are. He is a completely useless POS and not fit to view Tom DeLay from an orbiting satellite.

Bonehead, Cantor and McCarthy are responsible for quietly purging actually conservative Republican House Members for unspeakable crimes like opposing further increases in what is laughingly referenced as the "debt ceiling." The money of Texas construction zillionaires was applied liberally to fund the challenge of treasonweasel ex-TEA Party Chicago area Congresscritter Adam Kinzinger to defeat Don Manzullo, an 11 term incumbent and solid movement conservative.

Scott Brown be damned.

Ted Cruz is the future of this nation or this nation has no future.

I grant you that Denny Hastert was also a quisling and corruptocrat $$$$ oriented footstool for K Street lobbyists and said so here when he was Speaker. So is Paul Ryan.

GOP-Elite: When any old POS with an R after his or her name will suffice.

And conservatives can be slick enough to stay home rather than vote for useless crap like McCain, Romney, Dole, Bush the Elder, Gerald Ford, Boehner, Cantor, McCarthy, McConnell, Cornyn, and their ilk. Establishment wind tunnels want to BUY the POTUS nomination??? Then we can and must teach them that they are wasting their scads of corrupt money because we will NEVER let them win a general. Rinse and repeat with increasing numbers of defections until the sleazebags get the message. If that harms Muffy's trust fund, tooooooo baaaaadddd! In fact, we might consider allying with the Demonrats on Muffy's trust fund reduction the way the RINO-Elite ally with the Demonrats on guns, babies, marriage, military, etc., at least until the GOP-E slime GET THE F*** OUT OF THE WAY permanently.

Not that I feel strongly about this or anything.

YOU go to war with the army that Wall Street uses to buy GOP POTUS nominations because that is the army YOU've got.

I will, if your boys buy another nomination, sit back, stay home and witness the farce. Eventually the GOP party sockpuppets and sleazebag quislings will get the message.

And you, Kevin Williamson, and the Editorial Board of the once conservative National Review well know that there is an increasing defection, with each passing POTUS election, of actually CONSERVATIVE voters.

BTW, this has little to do with Ron Paul. I would not have taken good money to vote for the likes of him either.

I have not and I shall not vote for any GOP-E POTUS candidate who is not rigidly: pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-military and favorable to tax relief at every level of government for Americans of modest means. Next come the reduction of welfare state programs, Wall Street bailouts, Fed Reserve stock pumping schemes, etc.

If you want my vote and that of an increasing number of conservatives, then tell your GOP-E overlords that they can damn well nominate candidates worth voting for and not brain dead elitists or stooges for same.

Are you indulging the hilarious notion that the GOP Elite give a rat's ass about any of the issues you raise?

How many people are waiting to be told how to vote by ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, NYT, WP, etc.,??? You are living in a previous era.

Between Mitt Romney and Obozo, there is not a dime's worth of difference except on the care and feeding of Muffy's trust fund. Both salivate over abortion, perversion posing as marriage, gun grabbing, starving the military, and Mittens invented Obozocare before Obozo was elected.
