ATLANTA, GA, March 28, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) A federal judge has blocked the Obama administration from enforcing its controversial contraception mandate against Roman Catholic-affiliated organizations in the Archdiocese of Atlanta and the Diocese of Savannah.
U.S. District Judge William Duffey ruled Wednesday that the federal government cannot force Catholic schools, hospitals or charities to cover sterilizations, contraceptives or abortion-causing drugs in their health plans, as Obamacare requires of all employers, because to do so would violate their religious freedoms. The Catholic Church teaches that artificial contraception of any kind is gravely sinful.

Victory over Obamacare
Claim it is a permanent exclusion for Catholic organizations.
Probably a Good Baptist Judge who made the decision (my opinion)...
Definitely a Judge who KNOWS THE CONSTITUTION
Why only Georgia and not the other 49 (or 56) states?
That is my question as well, except I think the answer is that Federal Judge only has jurisdiction over Georgia.
However, most aspects of law are the "Legal Precedents" of something.
The fact this Federal Judge has ruled this way may put a nail in the coffin of the HHS Contraception Mandate (at least in terms of the Roman Catholic Church)
Math problem: 50 - 1 (California) + 6 (California segmented into a number of states).
It is important, as it would be possible to have flag with 5 rows of 11 stars each (prettier).
Before having 50 states, we had rows of 8 and 6, I think.
The number affects the design of the next American flag
I think he was referring to Obama’s reference to 57 states.
We’ve had a state total being a prime number before. We can handle it. :)
My opinion of Obama is that he is the most incompetent president during my lifetime -- even more incompetent than Jimmy Carter.
My opinion only, Bill Clinton did a number of things as president that showed he had the "savvy" to be president. That does not mean I approve of his policies or his IMMORALITY -- just that he could "get things done".
Obama has made a mess of Obamacare just as LBJ did with his Welfare and other things to build a "great new society".
Depends on how narrowly the SCOTUS 0bamacare ruling is made. If it allows the mandate and is very broad, the next Federal Appeals Court up the line will overturn this verdict. If it’s narrowly ruled, this case might also wind up in the Supreme Court eventually. For now, it only affects Federal District 11, which is AL, GA and FL.
Georgia catholic organizations........what did they give up or agree to support what agenda in order to be exempt? gay marriage, abortion, contraception?
“Why only Georgia and not the other 49 (or 56) states?”
Patience; it has become the legal precedent for other jurisdictions. I’m more curious to see what happens to smaller businesses owned by conscientious Catholics.
I've got $5,000 that says neither 0bama or Biden can explain the concept of a prime number. I might be willing to raise that bet.
Same goes for Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Debbie Stabenow, Patty Murray, Dick Durbin and Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
The next Washington flag is solid-white.
Duffey is an alternate spelling of Duffy, which is an Irish name. And Judge Duffey is originally from Philadelphia, not Georgia. So chances are that he’s Catholic. (Not that it matters; a constitutionalist of any faith would see the contraception and arbotifacient mandate as the violation of the Free Exercise Clause that it is.)
What prime number are you talking about? The next prime numbers after 50 are 53, 59 and 61. The 57 states that Obama said we have would not give us a flag with a prime number of stars (57 is 19X3), and such flag likely would have 3 rows of 10 and 3 rows of 9.

A federal judge with jurisdiction over Georgia ruled that they cannot be forced to comply with the mandate, because to do so would violate their religious freedom rights.
It’s not an agreement between them and Obama/Sebelius to exempt them.
They got a favorable judicial ruling in a court case.
Their side won.
Very different cases. The Georgia case involves entities that are actually elements of the Catholic Church. While not centers of actual worship schools, hospitals, and charities carry out the Church’s Mission and are supervised by diocesan personnel and overseen by the bishop. This decision is actually a no brainer. Hobby Lobby’s case is seeking the right of private citizens to be secure from state compulsion to perform activities contrary to their religious belief. That’s a dicier situation. SCOTUS will be very careful in its decision as the consequences could be far reaching whichever way it rules. If Hobby Lobby wins could a Muslim or Muslim owned business refuse to pay a portion of its taxes that would be used to fund the GWOT on the grounds that the Koran condemns Muslim on Muslim violence? Could banks be forced to grant muslims interest free mortgages on the grounds that interest and usury violate Koranic teaching? I’m sure the lefty morons Kagan and Sotomayor have no need to consider thede ideas beause they simply parrott Barky’s speeches, but I actually think Scalia will raise these questions in the internal discussions, simply becase he’s an honest jurist who looks at the complete issue before the Court.
