"Free Justina!" Why Did Massachusetts Take This Sick Girl From Her Parents In The First Place?
Boston Herald ^ | Graham | Michael

Posted on 03/27/2014 3:30:19 AM PDT by suspects

At the center of the seemingly incomprehensible case of Justina Pelletier lies one very simple, and unanswered, question:

What did her mom and dad do to lose custody of their daughter in the first place?

Gallons of ink have been poured on this story since last November, when a Connecticut TV station first reported the story of a sick teenager ripped from her family over a medical dispute between two hospitals. But having read every report on the case, including Judge Joseph Johnston’s ruling Tuesday, I can’t find a single claim — substantiated or otherwise — of bad behavior by Lou and Linda Pelletier before their daughter was taken from them.

Not one.

Defenders of the Department of Children and Families and Boston Children’s Hospital insist there must be something — SOMETHING — to justify the nightmare Massachusetts has inflicted on this family. A teenage girl who was relatively healthy, able to ice skate with friends while under Tufts Medical Center care is now almost immobile in a wheelchair, after more than a year of virtual isolation at a Children’s Hospital psych ward.

There’s got to be a good reason — GOTTA be — for DCF keeping this girl isolated from her family, allowing them to visit for just one hour a week — always under the watchful eye of DCF agents and guards. A reason for not allowing her to attend school, or to attend church on Christmas or Easter.

We treat the accused Boston Marathon bomber better than this, for cryin’ out loud. So there must be a rational defense for what amounts to the abuse of a poor, sick girl.

Whatever that reason is, alas, it doesn’t appear in the public record. And this is a problem. Because the state of Massachusetts has taken a child...

"The Germans made some fine things... too bad they used them for nefarious purposes." Germany and Austria should have been nuked in 1945. The MG42 is/was a fantastic killing machine. Unfortunately so, for my people. "Look at the Shiney Thing!!!" It is fun to watch, I agree NF. לעולם לא תשכח#

“....a fantastic killing machine. Unfortunately so, for my people....”

Yeah my old man was on the receiving end of those things in both Belgium January 1945 and Germany March 1945... I suspect he wouldn’t have the same “mechanical appreciation” of it as I do, were he still with us...

I was at a WWII re-enacters event that I go to up in Reading, PA, a few years back; it’s a yearly event, on or around the June 6th weekend. Folks show up from all over the world, and stay they, camped. There’s even a complete “French Village” that they build, and battle through the streets.

The Wermacht Landsers (re-enactors from Germany) came out and “took” the airfield, right next to where I was standing with my kids and some friends. An MG42 crew set up right next to us, on the other side of the barrier wire, and cut loose with it (blanks, obviously) on the British troops attacking across the airstrip.

The infantry on both sides were blasting away at each other. Deafening, up close. The blast from that MG was truly “inspiring”, shall we say... what a sound.

I honestly do not know how those WWII guys managed to have ANY hearing left at all.

On another note... the Russian contingent there was drunk. Their encampment was littered with empty Vodka bottles - Ha!!

Here’s some photos at the site:

I’d have to agree.

That reenactment looks very cool. I went to a Civil War one once and I thought it was great.

“I honestly do not know how those WWII guys managed to have ANY hearing left at all.”

My uncle that was in Korea is dead in the water without his hearing aids. I assume all vets have hearing loss of varying degrees. I read that Civil War vets that were on the battleships (metal boxes) got disability pensions because they were deafened by the noise of cannonballs bouncing off the ships all the time.

Here’s a thought: Tisei wins and becomes a solitary but tolerated moderate-liberal vote in a district that would otherwise elect a ‘Rat, like the late Bill Green of Manhattan in the 1980’s. As for the gay thing, as long as he doesn’t make a big deal out of it, we can look the other way.

This is sooooo sad, as well as outrageous, of course. People who contribute to the hospital should stop donating, and tell them WHY!

Umm, no. First of all, Tisei is full-on liberal, not “moderate-to-liberal.” Second, Green was far less liberal than Tisei. Third, the MA-06 is far less liberal than the Silk Stocking district that Green represented. And fourth, Tisei is all about making a “big deal” out of the “gay thing,” and he’ll be pushing same-sex marriage and adoptions for all 50 states. I would support a less liberal primary challenger to Tisei every single time. And, as I said, I’m not really sure if we’re better off with him winning or losing the general.

There’s no upside to his election, only lots of downsides. If trash like this is all the MA GOP can cough up to run, it deserves to lose. It is shameful in a state that produced giants, John & John Quincy Adams, Henry Cabot Lodge, Sr., et al, that its members are such statist, intellectual leftist midgets as to make Cuba blush with embarrassment at these toadies.

I don’t understand why Bill Hudak didn’t run again (Tierney’s challenger in 2010).

He seems to have made a career out of making a big deal out of being a fruit.

He’s more liberal than any RINO currently in Congress. He’d probably compare to Connie Morella, I’d just as soon that no one that liberal was even allowed in the party, whether a fag or not.

Maybe if he were running in Morella’s old district, filled with government workers, where I think Bush got about a third of the vote in 2000, and no R but a rank liberal RINO could win, instead of a district where Romney got 43%, then maybe it would ‘okay’. The 9th could elect a Scott Brown, at least.

His vote for Speaker is about the only use he’d have (besides embarrassing MA rats by finally taking a seat from them), balanced against lending an “R” co-sponsor to every piece of queertastic legislation. I’m glad I don’t live in that district and have to consider whether I could bring myself to vote for him. I basically don’t give a crap whether he wins or not, either way the incumbent will need to go in 2016.

Hmm looks like I slightly underestimated the GOP vote in Morella’s old pre-2002 district. Gore got 60%, factor in Nader and Bush must have got 36-38% of the vote. Still I doubt any Republican much more conservative (or any less personally popular) than Morella would have had a chance.

“physician’s ego”

A malpractice suit should expose the Dr. And also file a formal complaint and investigation against his medical license.
