They’re rehearsing to steal it. The problem with putting Airdales in command of carriers is that they never remember to take the keys with them when they park them.

Obviously it’s for boarding practice. They’ve got those swarms of little speed boats and somebody over there is having delusions about capturing a US carrier.

They could be building it for a movie.
Same thing Paramount did when filming Hunt For Red October. They were given carte blanche access (at a price) to just about anything the USN could provide. But they knew better than to ask the Soviets for access to a Typhoon-class ballistic missile submarine.
So they built one. 1:1 scale waterline replica that sat on top of barges. Sounds very similar to what the Iranians are doing here.
