Sen. John McCain blasted the "timidity" of the Obama administrations sanctions on Russian officials Monday, saying that the White House needs a "fundamental reassessment" of the relationship between the United States and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"This presidents response I dont know how it could have been weaker, besides doing nothing," McCain said during an appearance on MSNBCs Andrea Mitchell Reports.
The Arizona Republican said that Putin is likely "encouraged by the absolute timidity" of the U.S. reaction to Russia's incursion into Crimea.
"I dont know when the president and his advisers are going to wake up to what Putin is really all about," he added. "We've got to start with a fundamental reassessment of our relationship with him."
McCain, who just returned from a trip to Ukraine with seven other lawmakers, recommended that the United States instead provide Ukrainian forces with defensive weapons and training.
"One of the things that I would do is send some of our military to Kiev and find out how we can best assist them," he said.
He must feel bad sometimes for handing him the election...
Ukrainization.
Don’t worry, tomorrow McCain will kissing Barry’s rear end.
I wish this dinosaur would just retire. Sad watching people like this clown trying to stay relevant.
Mom jeans and McNasty are both losers.
McCain and Obama, both are wrong to the other extreme. One does nothing, the other wants to start WW III.
Wonder how this would play out under President Romney?
Now we know who was really running the WOT.
Also explains some of Bush’s dumber ideas (ie TSA).
If this lunatic McCain had his way, we would be fighting and dying in Egypt, Libya, Syria, Ukraine.
Man never met a war he didn’t like.
The truth of the matter is we can’t do much of anything short of starting WWIII, ruining OUR economy and making enemies with the EU who will receive the brunt of any retaliation.
McDork is the only person whom I hold in almost as low a regard as I do the Obamadork.
FUJM.
Why isn't McCain locked up at Guantanamo for meeting with and enabling terrorists in Syria? What would we do if a half dozen Russian Senators came to the US to meet with a group involved in a violent coup?
Yes...he should add that he is the one largely responsible by his own weakness in exposing the real Obama in the debates.
“..Sometimes I’m glad he lost.”

For sure, things would be much better if he had won, but by how much — we will never know. Yes, John Strangelove would make a good sequel to “Dr. Strangelove”...Slim Pickens would be jealous of that picture.
It can be done without starting World War III. Read up on how Ronald Reagan bankrupted the Soviet Union to help win the Cold War. He did it through energy policy.
The problem (okay, only one problem) with Obama is that he is incapable of seeing a picture that is bigger than his own ego. If you cross him, he goes after you personally.
I wish this freakin idiot would just keep his mouth shut. We don’t need him goading that other moron in the White House into WW3. He tried real hard in Syria to get us involved with helping anti-Christian Fundamentalist rebels.
Has his shadow weighed in yet, Linda Graham
Why should Obama get excited? From what I can tell, he didn’t run for POTUS to strengthen or help America but to take her down. Obama is a died-in-the-wool Socialist/Marxist which agrees with totalitarianism. Most evidence I’ve seen suggests Obama does not like a free society. Seems like he’s more inclined to agree with Putin than to rail against him in defense of freedom.
Hey John, we’re appalled at your timid response to an opponent who has squandered trillions of OUR hard earned money, shredded the Constitution, made us a laughingstock on foreign policy, has presided over unprecedented corruption, and diminished individual liberty, all without one iota of personal accountability or responsibility. This is one of your “friends from across the aisle.” Remember when you reassured us that we had nothing to fear with him as president? Remember when you said he was a “good and decent man,” and refused to let Sarah Palin go after him? News flash Senator— those who stand for freedom and prosperity have no friends across the aisle!
