I can almost guarantee you that there aren’t any employees at a Gap store in midtown Manhattan working for $10/hour. That kind of hourly pay wouldn’t even get someone out of bed in the morning in a place like NYC with the highest cost of living anywhere in the U.S.

The retailer didn’t raise minimum wage, he decided to pay his employees more. a decision that should be left up to him and the people he hires, not some bozo in the White House
This one wont be for long. Every time obama went out of his way to visit a place of business to praise them for their business practices of following his socialist business advice, it wasnt long before that business went out of business.

It was surprisingly difficult to find information on the GAP closing store locations. So, they’re struggling in North America, eh? What tax inducement did Obama give them to increase wages when they’re obviously in trouble?
I’m shocked that he supported their action. I assumed he went there to tell them that only the government can raise minimum wage and they had to lower it back to what the law says until he signs an executive order allowing (i.e. requiring) them to raise it.
How is HE going to get credit if corporations go off doing things like this on their own?

You’d be surprised. A good number of people here work minimum wage 60+ hours a week. Some illegals even below minimum.
Certain (dangerous and dirty) places in the city aren’t very expensive to live.
Next for GAP... price control heroism when inflation goes nuts because of all the costs through these adjustments.
It is called reducing the gap between wages and cost of living, but idiot demagogue will not talk about that, especially when their wives burn 100 million vacations for zero production, devaluing the real value of money, making a thief out pf the purschaser of goods, enslaving the world like in China.
Well, someone got to compensate for priming money irresponsibly into drugs like Obama does. The slaves are meant to compensate for the negative productivity of weed whackers like him in order to really pay for the services given to him that he does not pay.
