Lois Lerner, who oversaw the U.S. Internal Revenue Service’s scrutiny of tea party groups, was looking for someone from every branch of government to help resolve the issue that eventually cost her job.
In emails being released today by a congressional committee, Lerner wondered why Congress wasn’t getting more criticism, hoped that the Federal Election Commission would "save the day" and wrote that political nonprofit groups "itching for a constitutional challenge" might file a court case that leads the IRS to accelerate the release of specific information about groups denied tax-exempt status.
The emails are part of a 141-page report from the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. The panel is building a case designed to lead to a vote to hold Lerner in contempt of Congress for refusing to answer the committee’s questions and for providing false and misleading information in prior questioning.
"She led efforts to scrutinize conservative groups while working to maintain a veneer of objective enforcement," the report said of Lerner. "Her unwillingness to testify deprives Congress the opportunity to have her explain her conduct, hear her response to personal criticisms levied by her IRS co-workers, and provide vital context regarding the actions of other IRS officials."
Lerner has refused to answer lawmakers’ questions, twice invoking her constitutional right not to testify.

Ways and Means has a committee looking into this too. They have greater access to IRS, including the ability to look at the actual returns and such, which no other Congressional committee has. Let’s hope they also have the gonads that Darrel Issa (Neuter-CA) clearly lacks.
I agree, but at this point I don't care if it does not go higher than her. Lerner needs to be doing some jail time.
She is seeking amnesty and not getting it because she has no one higher to throw to the wolves.

Our country took bizarre punishments during the sequester and I bet most barely remember this....or care.
Remember, we couldn’t look at Mt Rushmore....couldn’t drink from a fountain in Yellowstone...vets couldn’t visit an open air monument and on and on. How blatently absurd and outrageous - yet they got away with it. What was especially bizarre to me is that the government employees actually followed orders to enforce this travesty. Doesn’t say much about integrity in our government employees.
So what’s a little IRS bad behavior? Do most people even care?

Lerner granted the Barrack H Obama Foundation, owned by Malik Obama an alien resident with documented ties to terrorist organizations, 501(c)(3) status. Processing was expedited, the status was granted on Sunday June 26, 2011, and was retroactive 38 months.
How high? All the way.
I say we hold protests at every post office on April 15th and BURN our tax returns. Right there in front of God and everybody.
