Democratic strategist James Carville predicted the next GOP presidential nominee will come from Texas.
"It's either going to be Ted Cruz or Rick Perry," Carville said Monday on Fox News Channel's "Hannity."
Cruz is a freshman senator from Texas and a tea party favorite, and Perry is serving out his last term as Texas governor. Perry ran for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012 but came up short after a few fumbles on the campaign trail.
But Perry has advantages, Carville said.
"He's been around the track once, and he can raise a bucketload of money," Carville said of Perry. "He can accidentally hit his speed dial and raise $5 million."
Carville said said Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker all have a chance.
Paul's father, former Rep. Ron Paul, ran for president in 2012 and got 21 percent of the vote in Iowa.
"You got to almost assume that Rand Paul can build on that, at least duplicate that,"

12th amendment says one of them would have to change their address before the election. Bush-Cheney ring a bell?
Hi PBS, I hope you are well.
I saw Carville on Hannity last night. I loved his comment about Perry being able to raise $5 Million by accidentally hitting his speed dial. As always with political pundits, it’s about the money. They give predicted viability to those who can raise the most money.
As far as “who” he would like in the race, I think it is like a friend once told me: “My dog can whip that skunk, but it don’t want him in the fight!” I believe Carville doesn’t care who the GOP candidate is, as after all, to him it’s America - it’s always about the money!

Perry is not the best speaker in the field, but Texas is a rare success in this obamanation we find ourselves. Same for Wisconsin.
Scott Walker has been outstanding successfully dealing with everything the marxist left has thrown at him.
Palin, too, was very successful until her VP run prematurely derailed her, something I believe McCain did to her on purpose, doing his masters' bidding.
Suits me James...
Carville is a real honest-to-goodness creep, but I hope he’s right on this one! Cruz Control!!!
How’s that?
Dang Bucky, that only thing you got after all this time???
need to kick yur record player its hung on a scratch.
Being a staunch Cruz supporter, I could easily get behind another Perry run or Rand. They all could do wonders in saving America.
The trouble is the RONPAUL cult mistakenly thinks RAND will be as nutty as they and RON are, so they will unduly attack anyone not somehow connected to the old Martian.

If Perry had one third of Cruz’s rhetorical skill, he would devastate the opposition.
However, that is not case. So, I think Walker and Paul are the most likely nominees. I don’t think Cruz can win the general election. I wish he could, but wishing aint gonna cut it.
A Cruz-Palin ticket would be unbeatable.
Cruz could go after Hillary’s lack of qualifications, and Sarah could attck her character and her character.
CRUZ/WEST.
I’d include Walker and Paul in Viperhead’s list of possibles.
I like both too. Perry hit it out of the park at CPAC.
We need to rally around whoever is the nominee.....these 2 will be far easier to rally around than say a Chris Christie.
Looking for establishment Republicans to torpedo these two any day now......
I wasn’t one of them. I was in the the Young Americans for Freedom, had a subscription to the “National Review” and canvassed the youth vote for Reagan in NY at that time. I live in Texas now and voted for Cruz in the last election: however, there’s no comparison between the two of them. Cruz is an exceptionally gifted orator and is an ardent conservative crusader, but he does not have the “common touch” that Reagan had. He also does not have the “fatherly” appeal that Reagan had to many women. Maybe, he can develop those things, but right now, he does not have them.
As much as I truly HATE Serpent Head, he may be telling the truth about what the dems see coming. Carville knows he ain’t gonna make any money with hitlery in 16, so he’s having to work the Talking Head circuit and knows that pure dem BS won’t keep his FNC checks coming very long.
Texas has proven to the rest of America that conservatives can do well. Our success is certainly connected to some degree with our longest serving Governor, Perry.
Perry is a master at learning from mistakes, especially his, look for a different Rick this time around. With all the slickness voters has been fed over the past Nobama and klintoon years, I will be surprised if voters are not going to reject “slick” and go with Git er Done Country Boy style, like Rick or Rand.
Cruz is likely the brightest Shooting Star in American. Anyone underestimating Cruz does so at their own peril.
