RED ALERT: Romney To Gather Aides In Utah
Conservative HQ ^ | 3/10/14 | CHQ Staff

Posted on 03/10/2014 7:01:15 PM PDT by xzins

The Washington Post reports that failed establishment Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is gathering his “political brain trust” at a swanky Park City, Utah ski chalet later this month.

If political brains were a prerequisite for an invitation it seems like Romney could have held the gathering in the broom closet of one of his mansions, but conservatives should not dismiss the threat to the prospects for a conservative victory in 2016 that Romney revanchists represent.

As The Post reports, and we hear from time to time with incredulity, there is chatter among some powerful GOP donors about another Romney presidential campaign in 2016.

The reunion is expected to include some senior campaign staff and debate prep advisers, including Beth Myers, Stuart Stevens, Russ Schriefer, Bob White, Peter Flaherty, Eric Fehrnstrom, Austin Barbour, Gail Gitcho and others of the so-called “brain trust” that managed to give away the 2012 presidential campaign.

According to The Washington Post article, Romney is also planning another get together this summer in Park City, where for the third straight year he will invite top political, business and policy leaders for an ideas summit. In 2012, during his campaign, the retreat included several possible vice presidential hopefuls, and in 2013, many of the GOP's leading 2016 presidential contenders attended, including Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.) and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

We’re inclined to believe Romney, who has been adamant in saying he will not run for president a third time, even though this this is the same Mitt Romney that said during the campaign "I've been as consistent as human beings can be" in response to challenges regarding his constant flip-flops and evolving principles of convenience on matters related to the conservative agenda.

It says a lot about the caliber of advice Mitt Romney received that that in the midst of the worst economy since the Great Depression of the 1930s he was soundly defeated in a 332 to 206 Electoral College blowout that saw him lose virtually every closely contested state, including the must-win states of Ohio, Virginia, and Florida.

In any logical universe Romney’s staff and consultants, such as Beth Myers, Stuart Stevens, Russ Schriefer, Bob White, Peter Flaherty, Eric Fehrnstrom, Austin Barbour, Gail Gitcho and pollster Neil Newhouse would never be hired to run or consult on a national Republican campaign again and no one would give a dime to any organization that would be so improvident as to take the kind advice that led Romney to lose in 2012 by almost 5 million votes.

The danger presented by the Romney pow-wow in Utah isn’t a nascent Romney presidential run, it is that Romney's “stand-for-nothing” style of politics will continue to exert its destructive influence on the Republican Party through the influence of his “brain trust” and the content-free campaigns they advise Republicans to run.

I’m all for a write-in campaign:

Scott Walker/Ted Cruz.
Or Alan West/Ted Cruz.
Or Scott Walker/Alan West

Any combination. If they foist a RINO on us, I’m writing in one of those choices.

I absolutely admire and respect Ted Cruz for his stand. He took the garbage from his OWN party, as well as from the usual POS’s on the Left. To my mind, he spoke for me, and for hundreds of thousands of folks like me.

I’d rather back a man that stands up for the “Little Guy” - and MEANS it - than some GOP blue-blood panderer (Mitch McConnell and his phony musket-waving comes to mind) any day of the week. And voting Dem is out of the question. They surrendered their souls to the communist manifesto a long time ago, and became the enemy of everything I hold dear.

And GOP’er that helps the Dems further destroy this Country by going after the Tea Party people needs to be thrown out on their ass by whatever it takes. There’s a word for that: Traitor.

Anyone who heard and understood Gov. Palin’s remarks during her CPAC Keynote address knows Romney’s job is to protect the status quo against populist disruption.
Romney is a crony capitalist and all his ruling elite buddies are against We the Peeons err People.
When the citizens get fed up with the cause they will change it but alas they are waaaay to stupid.

So.. once again, there’ll be 25 GOP candidates in the primary, ripping each other’s skin off, leaving a battered, bruised RINO to head the ticket against the Hildebeast.

Those of us who swallowed hard, held our noses and voted for him, will NOT make that mistake again.

Then you will be blamed for electing Hillary! or Obama III

Office of First President & Living Prophet®:

November 8, 2012

Fellow MORMON Freeper Christians!!

I must apologize and ask for forgiveness from you all.

As you know, we at Headquarters NEVER tell you pew warmers how to vote. It says so right in our press releases. Anyway, we were ALL thrilled to the max when there were two – TWO! – MORMONs being touted in the primaries: Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman.

Talk in our upper chambers high above SLC was how our gods were favoring us with these men; who had prepared their entire lives for an opportunity to save this Nation; which so badly needs guidance: OUR guidance even! So naturally, I and the other twelve analyzed and discussed the situation.

Consensus was that the voters should listen to the inner urging and vote for the one they wanted; but that seemed to be leaving WAY too much to chance.

I decided, that since I am the ONLY man on earth that can hear GOD’s voice, that I would pray for wisdom and clarity in the matter.

I hadn’t used the fleece in a while, so I questioned GOD with a test. A paper, with Romney on one side and Huntsman on the other was to be placed by the air conditioning vent high above my desk in the sumptuous office the Full Tithers have provided.
When the air would kick in later in the evening, while I was home, the paper would be blown down and whomever GOD wanted would then be visible on the upper surface.

As you can probably guess, when I came in the next day, the paper had landed on my desk, with Mitt’s name on top.
Last night, I was staying late, praying to GOD about how it was even possible that Mitt lost, when the janitorial cleaning crew came in. Being surprised to find me here, they apologized for interrupting me. I said to them, “It mattereth not, as I was about to leave anyway.”

As I was going out the door, the foreman of the crew just happened to mention that my office is ALWAYS so neat and tiny, never anything out of place, that they barely have to do anything to tidy up. Then one of the sweepers said, “Except that time in the spring when we came in to clean and found a paper with Huntman’s name on the floor by your desk. We put it back on your desk and left.

Tommy M.

PS Keep praying that Huntsman will add an “H” to his name. Jon looks so dang effeminate!

Onward to 2016!!!

There is no such thing as the lesser of two evils any more.

Just plain two evils.

Just what we deserve.

I'd like to thank the United States Government for protecting me and my kind.

You see, 40 years ago, my odds of making it out of the egg, alive, were very poor; about 80% of us died.

But a lady discovered our plight and wrote a book that addressed our problem,
and, in 1972, a law was ammended protecting us even further. (http://www.fws.gov/midwest/eagle/protect/laws.html)

What I find strange is that the same government passed a law the very next year that allowed for killing
of unborn, and apparently unwanted, humans.  Little ones still nestled safely in their Mother's womb.
Around 25% of them are dying before birth - on average nearly 3,300 - every day of the year.

I hear that by now, somewhere around 55 MILLION of them have perished.
Wouldn't that kind of mess up the humans plans for growth, and welfare, and
retirement?

Strange birds; these Homo Sapiens.  Perhaps they'll come to their senses
before they are ALL dead!

I've said for years that the GOP awards far too many delegates by population and far too few by actually delivering GOP electoral votes in November. New Hampshire, in particular, needs to be marginalized. They voted for the jackass candidate the last time the GOP actually won a presidential election nearly a decade ago.

We don't fix this, we don't fix the system.

Every state should get no more delegates than electoral votes. After that, the delegate award formula should be based on the number of GOP senators, congressman, governors, state legislatures and, most of all, track record for delivering GOP electoral votes in no more than the last five or six election cycles.

For the sake of argument, I would propose a formula such as this:

e + 2e(Ao/Po) + 4e(Ad/Pd) where

e = electoral votes
Ao = actual official offices controlled (U.S. Senators + Congress Reps. + Governor + control of each house of state legislature)
Po = possible number of official offices controlled
Ad = actual electoral votes delivered in the last five or six election cycles
Pd = possible number of electoral votes which could have been delivered.

This sounds too good to be accepted by the party leadership and too confusing to the party’s uninformed rank and file.
