Mayor de Blasio’s SUV was caught on camera speeding through Queens and blowing through two stop signs Thursday — just two days after he announced a sweeping street-safety plan.
The mayor — who was riding shotgun on the way back to City Hall from a pothole-filling photo op — was twice clocked going 15 mph over the speed limit by a WCBS/Channel 2 news crew.
The two-car caravan also ran past two stop signs without even tapping the brakes and changed highway lanes without signaling, the CBS video shows.
De Blasio’s wild ride came after his pledge to personally abide by his “Vision Zero” proposals, which aim to entirely eliminate traffic deaths in the city by 2024 with measures that include a 25 mph speed limit.
The violations racked up by de Blasio’s driver would have cost anyone else their license on the DMV’s point-penalty system.

Yet de Blasio initially barred reporters from his swearing-in on New Year’s Eve, instead offering solely to Web-cast the historic event.”

I moved out of New York city last year and I grew up there, I just couldn’t take the libs and the fascism anymore and now they got a hardcore Marxist as Mayor. I cannot wait till this dikwad blows up in their face. Mr. “working class” already starting in on people who drive for a living. By forcibly imposing a 25 MPH speed limit he has all but obliterated the entire taxi industry. So now all his rich Marxist friends when they want to go to some party celebrating the birthday of Castro can take the subway or bus like the rest of the peasants and you just know they are going to LOVE that! ha ha ha!

this kind of photo op behavior - favored and increased heavily since Gulliani in NYC - is a dumbing down of the populace, as if nothing can be done, nothing is getting done unless the mayor shows up and gets the TV cameras on him to say “see, I care”
when, if they really cared they’d spend more time directing activity from their office and less time in front of the camera
I don’t know which came first. Was it the dumbed down expectations of the populace, egged on by a stupid media asking “where’s the mayor”, or did it start with mayors behaving like publicity hounds so much that the people and the media could ask “well, where’s the mayor this time”.
Its all farce to me and reflects the sorry state of government and people’s expectations of those in government, in terms of what are the real jobs of those in government.
If that is the case, how did he get elected?
Oh but he’s a liberal! Liberals don’t have to obey the rules and laws that they make for other people. They are the elite ruling class, living off our hard work. As thanks, they look down their noses at us.
