On Jan. 1, 2014, tens of thousands of defiant gun owners seemingly made the choice not to register their semi-automatic rifles with the state of Connecticut as required by a hastily-passed gun control law. By possessing unregistered so-called assault rifles, they all technically became guilty of committing Class D felonies overnight.
Police had received 47,916 applications for assault weapons certificates and 21,000 incomplete applications as of Dec. 31, Lt. Paul Vance told The Courant.
At roughly 50,000 applications, officials estimate that as little as 15 percent of the covered semi-automatic rifles have actually been registered with the state. No one has anything close to definitive figures, but the most conservative estimates place the number of unregistered assault weapons well above 50,000, and perhaps as high as 350,000, the report states.
Needless to say, officials and some lawmakers are stunned.

Rather than admit that the vast majority of Canadians had no interest in complying with the law (some provincial legislators in Alberta even went so far as to publicly announce that they were openly defying the law), the Canadian government simply pretended that their original estimate was vastly overstated.
The Canadian gun registration program disappeared without a whimper a few years later.
“If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so.” -Thomas Jefferson
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.” - Samuel Adams
All the gun owners who rightly refused to register their arms are now at the mercy of foul and degenerate office holders.
Or revolution.
The purpose of the Second Amendment is two-fold. First, it grants a person the right to defend himself and others. Second, it allows the people to rise up against despots. The Blaze article names several despots in Connecticut.
In reality, any weapon prohibited to a citizen should be prohibited to a police agency. If the state of Connecticut wants to limit semi-automatic weapons possession by the citizens, it must prohibit the police agencies in the state of Connecticut from owning, possessing, and using semi-automatic and automatic weapons. The same holds true for the federal government and federal police agencies.
Do away with the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and limit the FBI (and the other federal police agencies) to six-shooters and billy clubs.
Put ‘em on double secret probation.
These “stunned officials” should go door to door......
Thanks for the link. The spirit of America rises.
If you want to hear from them directly, the next sound you hear could be the sound of bullets whizzing past your head.
It is "civil disobedience" at the moment. Just wait until they enforce it...by killing someone.

It's time to stun some officials and lawmakers in DC.
Honestly, I don’t know where politicians got this “we must be diverse, we must be inclusive, we must be open to dissent and interaction” and all that tripe. History has shown that when properly targeted, non of that is necessary.
Barack Obama and Adolf Hitler are two very good examples. Don’t get me wrong, Obama’s base is nothing but that, but his “enemies” are very targeted as was Hitler’s.
>>> “If you pass laws that people have no respect for and they don’t follow them, then you have a real problem.” <<<<
Sorry.
“Hastily passed” law and (probably to very likely) without really listening to their constituents before passing the law should earn absolutely no respect from citizens.
I’d like to see George Washington’s registration papers.
I especially like the engraved barrels that have the logo on the edge of the muzzle that reads “Smile - Wait for flash”
I agree, Senator. You indeed have a real problem. I hope you're smart enough to realize it's because you and others in your government have abridged the people's natural rights.
In fact some states issue illegals drivers licenses to make sure “public safety is assured”.
Using that reasoning, gubmint should issue everyone a license to carry a gun as well if licenses make us all safer.
