A 17-year-old Maryland boy has become one of the first openly gay Boy Scouts to achieve the Boy Scouts of America's highest rank since the organization reversed its ban on gay youth nearly six weeks ago.
Pascal Tessier, who publicly voiced his opposition to the ban on gay members, started with the group a decade ago as a Cub Scout and earned 21 merit badges before being named an Eagle Scout on Monday, said his father, Oliver Tessier, a consultant in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Since it takes almost forever to make Eagle Scout, that means he was a scout long before the ban was lifted. So hes a liar and untrustworthy.

I don’t know if they have to ‘declare’ or not prior to the ‘decree’ but the Lad is either an overachiever or a liar, or at the very least definitely untrustworthy.
OVERACHIEVER:
One who comes in 1st & 3rd in a Circle J....
Of course the importance of this story is that this pervert is now going to demand to be allowed to become a scout leader. Anyone doubt me on this? Anyone? Anyone?
bump
Adolescence is a time of change and one is expected to change in a healthy direction. Now we have the culture accepting...even pushing confused adolescents to abort proper changes and pause at a level of grotesque psycho-sexual infantilism.
This whole story is a tragedy for the boy and his country.
He achieves the Eagle Scout Rank, with Rump Ranger Clusters...
I do not doubt you at all. It is the next step to turn the Boy Scouts into the Pedo Scouts.
I had a gay teen in my troop. Then he went back to being straight. Go figure.
Is that Sulu in a BS tunic? WTF????
BSA 2013 National Membership Study - Executive Summary
released 4/19/2013, key excerpts below ...
61% of scouters favored the current policy, 34 % oppose it.
61% of Boy Scout parents supported the current policy, while 50% of Cub Scout parents backed it (45% of Cub Scout parents opposed it).
51% of major donors support the current policy while 33% oppose it. But a majority of Fortune 500 companies want to see the policy changed.
The summary of findings said a policy change would cost the Scouts a minimum of 100,000 to 350,000 (13.5%) members. It is believed any gain in membership because of a change to the membership policy related to youth and adults would be in the range of 10,000 to 20,000 (<1%) youth.
BSA has been in a negative growth slope since 1973. The new Membership Standard adopted on 5/23/2013 to allow openly homosexual youth, but no adults, will add to the membership decline but not dramatically. It may take a year, i.e., early 2015, before BSA releases its annual membership statistics before we can judge how BSA membership has been affected.
George Takei - BSA PSA commercial, between 1973-1980
video run time = 00:00:31 seconds
In OCT 2005, George Takei, aged 68, revealed during an interview in an issue of Frontiers magazine that he was homosexual and had been in a committed relationship with his partner, Brad Altman, for 18 years.
When Takei came out in 2005, Howard Sterns radio show was part of his media tour. While most post-coming out interviews with Takei were safe and polite, Stern asked the same kind of rude and intrusive questions hes known for asking heterosexual celebrities. Takei discussed his life with an openness and an ability to take Sterns ribbing. The interview was a frank discussion of homosexuality on a show with an audience that doesnt seek to learn about homosexual experiences. He stated that his 1st homosexual experience occurred at a scout summer camp in the late 1940s. Sterns audience reacted so positively to the interview that Takei was invited to be a part of Sterns new satellite radio show when it debuted in 2006.
This exposure on Howard Stern's show brought Takei new celebrity status, and he has used it to promote the homosexual agenda. On 6/24/2013 he joined Ohio mom, lesbian, and former Cub Scout den leader, Jennifer Tyrrell, to ride together in a GLAAD/Scoutsforall car at the 43rd Annual LGBT Pride March in NYC.
On 8/08/2013 Takei signed an online petition to move the 2014 Winter Olympics from Sochi, Russia, to Vancouver, Canada. The petition, started by the organization Equality For All, proposed Vancouver as an alternative to Sochi in light of Russias increasingly oppressive treatment of homosexuals, both legally and culturally. Discrimination in any form is a blight upon the Winter Olympics, and it must not be tolerated, wrote Takei on his blog. Russias cynical and deplorable actions against the LGBT community have given license to hate groups within its borders to act with violence and impunity against a group, based solely on whom they were born to love.
On 10/18/2013 Takei, aged 76, spoke at a National Press Club luncheon in Washtington D.C. for 40 minutes about equality for the LGBT community where he said: I love young people, especially young, straight couples. Theyre going to be making the gay babies of tomorrow.
That alternative is called Trail Life USA. We are in MD and have left BSA because of this whole issue. I was Scoutmaster, boys are Eagle and Life. We’re part of the first Trail Life USA troop in Maryland and one of over 500 nationwide that is chartered or in process. Go to traillifeusa.com for see if there’s a troop near you.
F’ him. And his ‘rank’...it stinth...
...which of course, are not BSA values, or at least they weren’t before. They did this to themselves.
I was surprised that he made eagle scout with only 21 badges. Yes, that is exactly what it takes to get Eagle — the bare minimum. I can’t think of a single eagle scout I’ve known who did didn’t get a bunch of other merit badges.
My son, who should get his Eagle in the next two months, had over 48 merit badges, because he had a lot of interests and did a lot of scouting stuff.
I only made life, and I had more than 21 merit badges — just not the right ones for Eagle.
Makes me wonder what this guy has been doing — it’s like he had a single goal, to be a gay eagle scout, and otherwise didn’t really enjoy or care for scouting.
Either that, or the reporter made a mistake.
There is nothing on any form that asks if you have gay tendencies. And in scouting the leadership is taught to not discuss sexuality, and we don’t expect the boys to be having sex of any kind, nor is it a matter for any of the merit badges or activities.
And he doesn’t seem to be an overachiever, if the article is correct that he only got 21 merit badges.
and we dont expect the boys to be having sex of any kind, nor is it a matter for any of the merit badges or activities.

Guess in today’s ‘climate’ you couldn’t chastise them for breaking that ‘rule’.
I used the term overachiever in the sense that if he had ‘followed the guidelines’ it meant he earned Eagle Scout and got 21 merit badges in about 6 months...
Um, I can tend to be sarcastic and sardonic at times...<:
Thank you for the info.
We will definitely scope it out.
Godspeed to y’all.
