This is a developing news story. An earlier version of the article follows:
House GOP leaders announced Tuesday they will advance this week an increase in the government's borrowing cap that's free of any add-ons. A vote is scheduled for Tuesday night because of the threat of a winter storm.
House Speaker John Boehner announced the plan after a poll of the Republican rank and file failed to show enough support for a plan to tie the hike in the debt limit to a plan to reverse a recently passed cut to military pensions.
The Ohio Republican said he expected virtually all of President Barack Obama's Democratic allies to vote for the so-called clean debt cap increase but that he would be one of the few Republicans to back it in the vote.

Sure...it was a quote from FRs front page...it wasn’t me speaking.
If we continue to bring in 1.2 million legal permanent immigrants a year, two thirds at least are future Dem voters, it won't matter how many loopholes we close, There are more legal Dem voters. In 1970 one in 21 was foreign-born; today it is one in 8 is foreign-born, the highest in 90 years; and within a decade it will be one in 7, the highest in our history. Demography is destiny.
And what does the GOPe want to do? Almost triple legal immigration and double the size of our guest worker programs. How Mass (Legal) Immigration Dooms a Conservative Republican Party
WELL YOU CANT TAKE THE COUNTRY BACK WITHOUT VOTING AND SUPPORTING THE ONLY OPTION AVAILABLE, AND THAT OPTION THIS ELECTION CYCLE IS THE GOP! So you all are the problem and not the solution...period.
We are not going to take the country back electing more GOP RINOs. We need a conservative alternative.
My last warning so Do not send me any more of your drivel! IM DONE tryng to reason with losers.
Do you consider bombast and emotion to be "reason?" The GOP is the Stupid Party that continues to act like a loser even when they control the House.
Sorry, RINO Boehner’s got to go! It’s one betrayal after another.
You're a Republican, Kackikat, whereas, LLS, I and most of FR are TEA Party Conservatives.
HUGE, VITALLY important difference.
Republicans: The Other Democrats...
Thank you Sister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#1 I am NOT a Republican.
#2 The name calling was not just on my side, as I was attacked for believing we all should vote.
#3 I don’t think the Tea Party ever came into this, but my vote in 2008 was all about Sarah Palin, who is part of the Tea Party...your argument makes no sense.
I don’t disagree with you Jim, my point is if we are going to make any progress the democrats have to be voted out.
I am not a Republican, I am an independent conservative, but voting is a privilege and we should all try to get the right people in office.
I was attacked for saying we should all vote out the democrats, and be united to take the country back. A lack of white voting is what got Obama elected in 2012. There is a link on that, and I will try to send you the breakdown on the voters.
I think you said it back ten years ago, “if you don’t vote, you have no reason to complain”...right?
How anyone got that I was supporting Boehner instead of supporting voting out the demcorats is beyond me. You can read my comments...it is mostly about the need to vote so change can come through legal changes....and there are Tea Party Candidates that need conservatives to come out and support them in the primaries and Nov.
Maybe you should trying removing your head from your ass.
Here is why Obama won in 2012...

That is my whole point.
I vote conservative now because I know the GOPe does not want to do the right thing anyway, they only want to spend more money and move us in the same direction at the Dems.
The establishment Republicans only want to manage big government better, not reverse big government.
In PA where I live a Republican controlled legislature and governor signed off on a 28 cent a gallon gas tax hike last year and I will not vote for the RINO’s that did that under any circumstances.
I vote conservative in the Republican primary and will vote conservative in the general election, third party, write-in whatever but not for a liberal Republican candidate under any circumstances.
95 PERCENT OF ELECTED REPUBLICANS EITHER FAKE CONSERVATISM OR REPUDIATE IT.
From Rush Limbaugh’s site in 2012:
CALLER: Well, I want us to get the Republican leadership to wake up, and we’ve gotta get conservatives.
RUSH: Ken, I hate to tell you, but that’s not the message they’re taking from this election, as you know, if you’ve been listening to the program today. They know that three million didn’t show up. If they come to believe that the three million didn’t show up because they don’t like moderates, they’re just gonna get mad at you like the Democrats get mad. At least what I’ve seen so far on TV, and read, and is coming from the so-called conservative media, the Republicans think they goofed up by failing to get the Hispanic vote and the single women vote. They think they goofed up on the demography side, which tells me that you’re gonna continue to be pretty unhappy with the direction they go.
CALLER: Well, the establishment of the Republican Party has unfortunately been in Washington too long —
RUSH: Well, I’m just gonna tell you, look, I understand what you’re doing, but you gave us Bill Clinton, and now Barack Obama. Your vote is your vote. I understand. I saw this figure, I saw this three million didn’t show up. I saw it yesterday morning. It didn’t register. I even mentioned it at the beginning of this program. It didn’t register ‘til last night when I compared it. Had you guys all shown up, Romney would have beat Obama, popular vote, by 180 thousand. Those are hard numbers, real hard numbers. I don’t know what it would have meant Electoral College-wise. Anyway, I gotta go. Ken, thanks for the call. Back after this.

RUSH: If there’s a 70% chance of curing your cancer, but you hold out for a hundred percent, is that what you would do? Or would you go for the 70% chance? Takes all kinds.
END TRANSCRIPT
Obamacare was actually designed as a bailout of the health insurance companies through dumping old lower cost insurance and making people buy new higher priced policies.
The poor are being subsidized by the taxpayers and national debt with expanded Medicaid that will bring more money into the insurance company and health care industry.
Its no wonder that a Republican governor from the hospital industry (Rick Scott of FL) singed off on Medicaid expansion under Obamacare to cover poor people in his state.
I think El Rushbo should have said a five percent chance since only five percent of elected Republicans are real conservatives.
2012? LOL. You drag that up but obviously haven’t been listening to Rush lately. He hammered the GOP on amnesty and the beltway GOP were furious about it.
Obama won in 2012 because life-long abortionist/gay rights champion, big government mandate-loving Romney was a lousy candidate. Worst Republican possible to put up against Marxist Obama. We needed to run against Obama’s out of control liberalism, big government statism and especially ObamaCare. If Obama is ObamaCare’s father, Romney is its grandfather. Statist Romney failed to differentiate himself from Obama and his own bastard child, RomneyCare. He tried pretending to be a conservative, but that was unnatural to him, obviously uncomfortable and his lies were obvious to everyone. When we needed a balls-to-the-wall, all in, hard as nails conservative, RINO Romney ran a mealy-mouthed, check/fold campaign, just like RINO McCain.
And that’s the end of that story.
But of course, none of us could have possibly predicted that beforehand. Do I really need a /sarc tag here?
Grow up and calm the hell down.
I’ve never voted for a demonic-rat in my life.
I fully realize and acknowledge that we are a 2 Party system, and I ALWAYS VOTE: including in every primary!
The fact remains that Speaker Boehner caved, without extracting one concession.
As for the name calling ... poor you ... I read where you called LLS a “traitor” and attacked others for not towing your GOP-e line, citing Stuart Varney as your back-up reference. I gave you the Heritage Foundation and Breitbart for mine.
Clearly, as the paltry vote proved, the majority of Republican House members were willing to stand their ground, and as one ranking member said; “We were prepared to go bold.”
Instead of fighting with them, Boehner choose to capitulate to the majority Democrats, and a handful of elite Republicans. In so doing he abandoned not only his own House members, but the American People, so desperately in need of Leadership.
FRiend, I am aware of all that about Gov. Scott. That was a dirty pool move by Scott trying to slide that Medicaid expansion into FL for his crony donors. He is now down 8% to Crist and needs every conservative vote he can get. His support of Democratcare via the Medicaid expansion shenanigans may very well cost him the election.
