HOUSTON Sen. Rand Paul on Saturday predicted that Texas would turn blue within a decade if the Republican Party doesnt become more inclusive.
What I do believe is Texas is going to be a Democrat state within 10 years if we dont change, Paul (R-Ky.), who grew up in Texas, said at a dinner held by the Harris County GOP. That means we evolve, it doesnt mean we give up on what we believe in, but it means we have to be a welcoming party.

The senator, whose father was a longtime congressman from Texas, acknowledged that immigration reform is a touchy subject before offering his vision for people who want to come to the United States.
We wont all agree on it, he said. But Ill tell you, what I will say and what Ill continue to say, and its not an exact policy prescription but if you want to work and you want a job and you want to be part of America, well find a place for you.
There was some quiet applause in the massive hotel ballroom, in which hundreds of Republicans a mix of high-dollar donors, activists and state officials were gathered. But Paul remarked that the response was kind of tepid.

Correct, and Eric Holder is actively pursuing that goal with backing from his boss. President Hillary will accelerate that process of rounding up all illegals and deporting them ASAP. /Sarc
In 1992 I met a Mexican-American woman in San Diego at a research foundation. She confided to me that Mexicans were coached to inflate their numbers to census takers for the purpose of having more government allocated to their list of needs.
If Mexicans will lie to census takers, they will also lie about other things and they will commit ‘soft’ crimes without hesitating. One such soft crime would be voting multiple times.
The 2012 election was not lost because of the lack of Hispanic support for the GOP. It was lost because conservatives stayed home rather than vote for Romney.
After election analysis pinned the loss on the old Perot bloc of blue collar conservative voters. These voters number more than 6 million. Their passionate participation would have given the GOP the Presidency.
Hispanics are not needed yet. But an eye must be kept on their tendency to break the law. Strong election observers are needed.
The way to secure the Hispanic votes are to attract them through better economic policy. Ultimately Hispanics want to climb ladders to prosperity. They have a fairly strong work ethic but they will take whatever freebies are for the taking and they will lie and game the system to milk the system of all freebies possible.
Get the economy into high gear and tighten on the freebies and Hispanics will vote conservative if they see a ladder for them to climb and it must be a conservative ladder, not a run of the mill corruption offering that the democrats bring to them.
Tx is in danger of turning blue...so let's legalize 10 million new voters who think leftists like Morales, Maduro, Castro, and the Mexican PRI are just dandy. Good thinking, Rand.
We only need one courageous Chief Executive who WILL execute the existing immigration laws to turn this around. The laws are in place, we just need someone to drive them.
General comment: Asked this on yesterday’s thread but no one replied.
—Someone care to explain why Freepers, supposedly more informed and intelligent than the average LIV or liberal, still harbor the fantasy that this idiot is a conservative and worse yet, promote him as one?
Someone? Anyone?—
So can we now safely assume people who continue to forward Paul as an acceptable candidate are in fact shilling for the GOPe? I would hope so. Because if we don’t figure out who we can ‘trust’ to uphold conservatism now, we’re all gonna be riding the Right Wing Romney-go-Round again shortly.
Remember the whole “Feet to the fire” thing? Well, was it all just talk or not?
The republican party can’t attract any vote.
They are obvious, stand for nothing, lying whores.
No, if our immigration program looked like this:
Looking for the “like” button here!
Well...that nut didn’t fall to far from the tree!
The GOP couldn’t be more “inclusive” right now. Abortion, amnesty, gun control.....
Why?
Pimping to Turn the USA Socialist?
It's What the Uniparty wants.
I agree. Paul just confirmed a bunch of progressive lies. Worthless.
Don’t know if this answers your very valid question, but worth reading....

We are not a nation of immigrants. We are a nation of colonists and pioneers. Immigrants showed up after the colonists and pioneers had carved a civilization out of the wilderness.
He was never anything else KC. People so badly want heroes that they blind themselves to the truth that stands in front of them screaming.
This isn’t his first rodeo on this issue. But people ignored his past comments of just a year back. I said it then and will say it again He is not to be trusted and his actions prove it.
This is what “Lesser Evil” looks like when it gets into office.
The degenerates that are running around saying that the GOP needs to win hispanic votes or die are full of crap.
It makes no sense to do anything to enfranchise 11 million criminals, most of whom are from Mexico.
So what is driving the GOP Rand Pauls of the world on this issue?
Corporate puppet masters.
The Washingtonians from both parties sell us out for campaign cash in a New York minute every chance they get.
The only thing that gets their attention is being targeted for a primary challenge.
Enforce existing laws!
Go by the existing laws to become a leagal citizen.. (Americans are supposed to obey the law) then start living the American dream.
American citizenship is not just given away in turn for votes.
Rand Paul should be run out on a rail for this!
“... We were all immigrants once.
Not me.
Not the guy who s aquifer as saying this.
Not a lot of people.
Its a shame
Rand Paul is pro-life etc, a Conservative in other areas..
the eGOP ran an AMNESTY nominee when they ran McCain in 2008 and Willard in 2012...
It did not help the eGOP team then...
and it wont help them in 2016...
